@@AddictedFishing great. Video,, Quick question,, Does Power Bait paste get stale? How long do you use a jar before you trash it and buy fresh Power Bait paste ??
I know a 76 year old fellow here in Colorado with Alzheimer's that likes to fish. Your (This) video is his go to prior to every fishing trip to the local lake. Your contribution made at least one difference in someone's life. Thanks'
Thank god for this video if I go out fishing with my kids and don’t catch anything again they’ll probably give up on me 😂 headed to the lake now for trout and crawdads wish me luck! I need it 🤣
@@hughaldous5195 lol no joke I caught my dad right his throat with a hook I flung that pole.back and let go of the line it hit him and at the same time I pulled back forward and effectively set the hook right through his neck. My soon hooked me as well lol.
It’s amazing as to how this guy actually shows how to set everything up while other you tubers just say what line there using and just say what bait to use
As a person just getting into the idea of fishing, yours has been the single most clear, concise, specific and well explained video I've seen. And I've seen about 20hrs of videos in the last week at this point. I like the 3 methods, I thank you for showing how to ACTUALLY set up the line, weights, hooks and bait, the knots and the casting (only thing you missed is to catch the fish 🤣) but really, from a complete beginner that only bought a rod, the line and hooks and started randomly watching videos trying to learn, I appreciate your intake and explanation of the whole thing. I feel like I can catch more than a cold if I go to the lake now.
Gold info. I’m a combat vet and the outdoors has been a blessing for me. Took $500 bought a cast master (first ever rod) lures, hooks, weights, a net, all kinda of stuff to get me started. If I ever see this guy I will have shake his hand for the time he puts in making these videos for guys like me who are greenhorns to the fishing game.
Also a Veteran, out for about a year and trying to find my peace. A riverbank worked for my grandfather so I’ll start looking there. Thank you for the helpful info!
You guys are the reason why I started fishing this summer. It's better than going to therapy. There's something about being on the lake and fishing that calms my mind. Wish I found this channel sooner
As a newbie who just started fishing 4 weeks ago, I can't thank you enough Jordan! I've been going to trout fishing in lakes in Washington states late in the season and I've never been skunked. Last Saturday me and my wife caught 7 rainbows in one spot within just 3-4 hours. For a newbie I've been teaching/helping not only my family and friends, but also people at the lakes. People couldn't believe that I am a brand new angler. My family fell in love with trout fishing and now everyone owns their own fishing rod. Thank you Jordan!!
I have been teaching my friends everything I have learned on this channel. They say it's like speaking to a totally different person when I speak of fishing . You guys are amazing
I’m not going to lie, I’m new to this whole fishing shenanigans and a lot of stuff has been hard learn. A lot of folks on RU-vid post “how to” videos that are just blogs of their day, and folks out on the pier might not always have the time to give a newcomer advice. This video genuinely helped me, thanks guys
I love that folded line trick for running line through the eyes! How many times I've dropped the line and had it run back through...I have no idea. Simple, genius.
This is the first fishing video I have ever enjoyed to watch. My husband fishes & watches videos. I can't stand watching the videos with him. Then going fishing uggh I've always thought it was so boring. This video made me want to learn how to fish. This video made it look like an actually fun sport. I have never even considered it a sport before. I extremely enjoyed the "how to" and step by step instruction. I enjoyed the explanation and honesty. Especially when you would say, "I use this and this, you an use other brands or methods bit this is why I do it this way". I liked that you explained why you do it a certain way. I have never enjoyed anything about fishing, even my husband buying more bait or rods. Thank you so much, this video was so great, I actually want to go fishing now and learn. My husband has tried to get me to go fishing for the past 9 years, since w have been together and I always decline learning. Not anymore. Thank you for your teaching.
Hey, super helpful. Been slowly getting into fishing in Gray's Harbor for a couple months and struggling to figure stuff out. It's super cool to see some guys in the PNW giving good tips for us, I'll be sure to try some of this with my kids next time we hit Lake Sylvia! Love it, keep it up guys!
I’m so thankful for people like you putting out this content and knowledge for anyone to use FOR FREE! I started fishing many years ago and for years I absolutely sucked at it because I didn’t know what I was doing. I relied on strangers for advice and picked up little tidbits along the way. If RU-vid was around when I was a kid, it would have completely changed my fishing game. Thank you!
I just wanted to stop and give you props for such a great video. You are obviously a master at your craft and it shows. You just gave so much useful information in one video! Ill need to watch multiple times to absorb it all. Very well done!
After fishing for most of my life for blues and stripers from our 15' runabout offshore up to 6 miles or off the jetties and beach, I decided to buy a rod or rods to use with my ultra light reel, a Mitchell 409 and 1-6# line to go along with my baitcaster. I chose a Fenwick Eagle 56UL-MS-2 a 5'-6" Ultra Light-Moderate 1/32-1/4 oz. lures and 1-6# Line based upon several online reviews. I also bought Fenwick's Eagle travel rod EAG66M-FS-3 a 6'-6" Medium-Fast 1/4-3/4 oz. Lure 6-14 lb. Line for more distance and heavier line as my reel has a light spool and a heavy capacity spool for perhaps 10# braided line. I am sitting out this blizzard of 1/29/22 and loving your tutorial for beginning trout fishing on UL gear. Thanks for starting at the beginning and walking us through the basics in good detail. I'll be looking for more of your presentations.
Great tutorial! Especially appreciate the guidance loading the braid onto the reel. I have struggled with this a few times and ultimately gave up and went back to mono. Looking forward to trying again. Thanks Jordan!
I absolutely killed it last week at an alpine lake in the Uinta mountains in Utah using my Okuma Sedona and the Addicted bobber pulling flies and bait on braided line with a 36" fluoro leader. The braided line is a game changer in ease of casting in windy conditions. I find putting a power egg on with the piece of nightcrawler often improves the bite. Best fishing tutorial channel on the Tube IMHO.
Thanks so much for this, my nephew lives with me and we planned a fishing trip this weekend with my grandfather's poles he left me! I know nothing at all so your videos being so clear is going to make it easier to try to teach him too
Omg Thank You Thank You Thank You !! I needed this. I don't have anybody who can help me getting started, so this video was super useful to me, and others I'm sure. I will be buying this equipment through your links.
I love these tutorial videos like this one. I've been fishing for a long time, but I have learned so much on here and have learned new ways to fish for trout. Thank you guys so much !
Just started fishing with my 5yo son and these videos are so well done. As said before, thanks much for showing how to set everything up. Keep up the good work, you're making some very happy kids and proud parents out there!
So, I'm getting back into fishing again after 35 p!us years and I stumbled across this channel. Love this guy And his tips. By watching one video I already know more then I did in my many younger years of fishing combined...txxxx!
If your noticing bites that don't followup switch to a egg weight or some sort of sliding weight rather than split shot. The fish can feel the resistance from dragging those weights on the bottom. The sliding weight will be less resistance when they strike
I'm new to fishing and this video answered so many questions I had starting out. I wish I started with this instead of finding some of these out the hard way
Really great content, presentation, everything. It's obviously not easy to shoot these at the lake because these videos are by far the best I've seen. Keep them coming you're killing 'em.
Since I used magnet trout, I start to get more fish last october I landed 43 rainbow trout at the rice lake north vancouver and took me not even 6h fishing (catch and release ofcourse). My only presentation I used >>> bobber float fixed, egg sinker and swivel then I put a 6ft leader and the magnet trout jig and magnet trout chartreuse plastic worm at the end. 😁👍fish on!🎣
My grandparents loved to trout fish. They'd use the same bait set-up with the long leader for worms. BUT, They had a hypo needle that They'd pump a little air into the worm so it floated off the bottom and still wiggled. Worked every time.
Very thankful for videos like this. Been trout fishing since I was a kid but didn't know everything you just showed in 30 mins. I just learned a lot. Thank you!
Excellent and concise. Just started up again for the first time since fishing as a kid and this is immensely helpful. Awesome to find after reading a bunch of guides where it seems like people just want to rant about their gear/experience. Meanwhile this gave me a few simple methods with just enough theory so I can begin to reason about it a little more in depth on my own. Cheers!
This video was incredible! I'm experienced enough that I understood all the terminology you used but new to fishing where I still learned A LOT about trout fishing! Thank you! I'm excited to get out on the water soon!
This video was awesome!!! Felt like I was hanging out w him and learning. His way of elaborating on everything is great. Well worded and very knowledgeable.
Your videos are the best! I've attended two of the 101 Salmon Steelheading fishing conferences, with Marlon in PDX , pre- Covid. Love my Addicted sweatshirt-excellent quality. I target steelhead and salmon, but added Trout/w/boat this year. Your videos inspired my 28 year old -so thx now, I have to fight him from taking off with my boat. Keep the videos coming, Love you guys!
Excellent video! One thing I'd add is that when spooling the reel, make sure the line is oriented such that the line is coming from the bottom of the spool so that it will match the way it's going on the reel, else it will nearly jump off the reel.
It wouldn't be an addicted tutorial if Jordan caught any fish 😅😅😅 love all your stuff, can't wait until you guys come and check out some of these lakes in NY ♥️
Thank you so much for all of your great information and how you break your tutorial down. I caught my first trout right after setting my rig up just like you did. Thanks again, keep up the good work
Man I love how detailed yet simple you make fishing. All of these little tips and tricks are insanely helpful to someone who grew up fishing but never was the person who prepped all the equipment…..Awesome video!
I just found your channel through Instagram thank you for everything you do. I started fishing like a month ago and want to take my son out. You have an amazing way of showing us exactly what one needs and it gives me confidence to go out there and fish.
A couple things: I think this is the most informative and enjoyable trout video you’ve posted. So much information to take in, and presented in a very relatable and inviting manner. Secondly, do you think you could add music links in your video descriptions? I always catch myself bobbing my head to the relaxing beats you play in the background, and I’d love to know what they are. Thanks again for putting out great content!
Good video for beginners. But I've been trout fishing for62 years. I use browning ultralight 5 ft.rods with 4 lb.test Berkeley mono. Don't waste money on lures or power bait all we use is miniature marshmallows on a #8 long shank hook. Put a bead on your line about 3ft above the hook with a 1/4 or 1/2 Oz slip sinker. Cast out lay down the rod in a holder or stick , take a real small bobber and pull in a little line attach bobber, let it hang just above the ground. Fish hits bobber will go up the line, if it comes to the bank the bobber will drop. I take a paper clip, straighten it hang on line other end clip on bobber. I catch 200 trout each year before memorial day in pa. If they aren't bitting that well add a meal worm to the marshmellow.
That was a good tutorial, Thank you. One combo I like is a power egg and a little bit of a live night crawler. I don't know if it's just my area but the trout here seem to love it
Great video. I fished for the first time today and had no idea what I was doing. I feel like I actually stand a chance on catching a fish tomorrow, thanks to you
Man, I learned SO many things I can do better. Got all the right equipment, but lacked fundamentals. Thank you so much for making it all make sense… from setup to technique!! Awesome video!!!
Man thank you guys sooo much, I finally got my fishing license this past weekend to fish with my brother by ourselves for the first time and I kept on getting snagged and losing my weights and swivels. My line came pre-spoiled but now I know to add lighter line to the hook. Also I wasn’t adding enough bait but I somehow caught a good 2lb rainbow trout! And that was it lol. Also, do you have a video on hook size selection? Thanks!
Never been fishing before and your videos make me feel like I can get out on the water like a pro. I can’t wait to try out what I’ve learned from your channel and videos. Happy new subscriber!
Thank you for sharing your knowledge with your viewers. I have fished for trout for more than 50 years, primarily stocked trout in reservoirs. I just had an "ah ha" moment when you tied on a barrel swivel rather than using a snap swivel. I no longer need to store hooks with tied leaders! This will be much easier for organization in my tackle boxes! One question is what are your thoughts on the use of a sliding sinker above the swivel rather than split shot when using floating power bait? Thanks again!
Caught my first cuttie using tips from you guys. Thanks! I've tried to put my pole in a holder but really feeling fish investigate my presentation is half the rush for me, lol.
I appreciate the how 2s. I live in vt and am lucky enough to have a few good location options for trout within 10 min from my house. I've been watching your vids now for a few days I've already improved my experience quite a bit. Can't wait to get float fishing in the river down. Will save me a lot of tackle and aggravation. Gonna start with bait then move onto flies. Can't wait!
Thanks for such an informative video! As a bass angler I moved to a new state with a way better trout population than where I used to fish! Thanks for the new tips! Ill be using them in my next video!
I’m glad I found this video! Game & Fish just introduced rainbow trout to my local state lake in Mississippi. I’m looking forward to using the tips and techniques in this video to land some rainbow trout! Thank you!
Ok I'm not an beginner nor an expert, but this video would be super valuable for beginners. You explained the whole set up really well. No BS logical approach. Subbed
thank you so much for this video! it's been surprisingly hard to find something that covers all the basics in one spot. this video was loaded with helpful tips and tricks and just a great foundational start. really appreciate the work here, thanks again :D
