In this video tutorial will teach you how to set up and program your Intermatic ET2100 Series Digital Timer.
PRO TIP: Depending on the model of your ET2100 series timer, you may have 1, 2, or 4 LOADs/circuits. (Refer to your owner’s manual for more in-depth instructions regarding the setup and programming of your timer model)
If your model has multiple circuits, you can configure them to be operated in Simultaneous (SIM), Independent (IND), or Pulse (PUL) MODE, when first powered on by pressing the PLUS and MINUS buttons to cycle through the options.
For this example, we are using the #ET2145C which is a 4 LOAD/circuit timer. You can choose a configuration for LOAD(s)/circuits 1 and 2, different from LOAD(s)/circuits 3 and 4. Pressing the PLUS and MINUS buttons allows you to cycle through the options.
For this example, we will SET LOAD(s)/circuits 1 and 2 to be Independent of each other, so we will choose “IND,” and then press Enter/Next.
For LOAD(s)/circuits 3 and 4, we will choose “IND,” and then press ENTER/NEXT. This takes us to the SET DATE screen.
PRO TIP: If you are coming from a different screen, press the MODE button until SET and DATE are visible in the top left side of the display and the MONTH is flashing.
Set the current MONTH by using the PLUS or MINUS buttons until the correct MONTH is shown, then press ENTER/NEXT to select DAY by pressing PLUS or MINUS buttons, and press ENTER/NEXT then select the YEAR by pressing the PLUS or MINUS buttons.
PRO TIP: When the correct YEAR is displayed and flashing, verify the current DAY of the week is displayed (under the MONTH).
Next, press the MODE button to set TIME. (SET and CLOCK are displayed on the top left of the screen)
Press the PLUS or MINUS buttons to advance minute by minute or hold the PLUS or MINUS button down to cycle through faster. Be mindful of the AM/PM setting, then press the MODE button to continue.
Turn the DST Daylight-Saving Time setting ON or OFF using the PLUS or MINUS buttons, then press ENTER/NEXT and choose the current DST format for the United States, US2007, or a custom format.
Next, press the MODE button to proceed to the PROGRAMMING MODE.
PRO TIP: You can advance to PROGRAMMING MODE any time by pushing the MODE button until SET FIXED, ON/OFF EVENTS, and EVENT# are displayed. ON events will be odd numbers and OFF events will be even.
Set ON EVENT by pressing the PLUS or MINUS buttons to advance the time.
PRO TIP: If your timer has more than one circuit, you can choose which LOAD(s)/circuit(s) are affected by the ON EVENT, by pressing the ON/OFF buttons under the LOAD(s) until the correct load or loads are set.
After ON time(s) are set, press ENTER/NEXT to set OFF time. Press the PLUS or MINUS buttons to choose a time.
To set up a new daily program, press ENTER/NEXT, and follow the previous steps.
PRO TIP: If you do not want to set a HOLIDAY program, press the MODE button again to exit HOLIDAY MODE.
To set your first HOLIDAY program, press the MODE button, and a “H 1” will be displayed.
PRO TIP: The "1" indicates it's the first HOLIDAY block to be programmed. ET2100 series offers 50 unique holiday blocks to program.
Next, press the PLUS or MINUS buttons to choose the MONTH for the START DATE of your first HOLIDAY block, then press ENTER/NEXT to set the DAY.
Press ENTER/NEXT to set an END DATE for this holiday block, then press ENTER/NEXT to set the DAY.
Press ENTER/NEXT to set the ON EVENT TIME for all days in the HOLIDAY block. Press the PLUS or MINUS buttons to choose a specific time. Then press the ON/OFF buttons to choose the LOAD(s)/circuits to be affected.
Next, set the OFF EVENT TIME by pressing ENTER/NEXT, then press the ON/OFF buttons to choose the LOAD(s)/circuits affected.
To schedule more HOLIDAY blocks, press ENTER/NEXT, or press the MODE button to EXIT PROGRAMMING MODE.
PRO TIP: Pressing the “MODE” button cycles through the different timer modes. All MODE TITLES will appear in the top center of the screen.
Automatic Mode, “AUTO” follows all preprogrammed schedules and allows manual override.
Energy Saver Mode displays a FLASHING “AUTO” and follows all preprogrammed schedules, allowing manual overrides in two-hour blocks.
Manual Mode, “MANUAL” ignores all preprogrammed schedules, allowing only MANUAL operation through “ON/OFF” buttons beneath each LOAD.
And you’re done!
