Hey Brian, just wanted to say a big THANK YOU to you for having made this vid and posted it. I ordered 2 soft boxes for really cheap from Walmart ($58 for both that are exactly like your's), but they came with absolutely no instructions, even tho the advert said they came with "notes". Ha ha. Guess you get what you pay for. I would have had no clue how to do the support poles in the actual soft box itself without you. The support poles are in place and my soft boxes are up. I did have to do them a few times over cuz I set them up at the wrong angle, but SUCCESS! Couldn't have done it without you!

Very very helpful! Thank you so much for putting this up. Just a comment, the outer diffuser comes packed with the seams inverted (inside out) for packing. You have to turn them in order for the corners to slide on a bit tighter as well as for the velcro to be on the correct side.

I consider myself as a queen in putting things together but I struggled with this thing for an hour and a half before giving up and going to RU-vid and sir you are a freaking genius I love you !

This is by far the only tutorial online that showed me how to set this up properly. No instructions came it. I literally would be pulling my hair out trying to set it up without your help. Thank you. You do great things for the world posting content like this. It's appreciated. Happily subscribed to your channel. You rule!

This was fantastic. made my setup a breeze after an unsuccessful attempt before I watched your vid. One point to note though, you can actually leave the cap on, the fittings actuallly mold to it.

This is how every tutorial should be, very clear and you are entertaining to watch. I was researching for light kits and I think you did such a good job showing the product so clearly that I feel more comfortable buying it. Cheers!

The rounded end DOES NOT go in the fixture the smaller end does - it has a "stopper" so it doesn't keep going into the fixture and possibly damage your light. Also NEVER tighten CFL lights from the glass lamp, do it from the base or they could crack and break. The light can go either horizontal or vertical BTW

I had gotten a different brand that came with ZERO instructions for set up other than saying it was “easy” and EVERY other video out there that said it was a how-to literally said nothing or next to nothing about the procedures and fast forward time lapses through the actual set up!! I’ll be using my light kit for my self-taped auditions as an actor, helping others tape theirs and maybe even my own short films! Thank you so much for this tutorial Brian! I was so frustrated trying to use their minimal directions. I am pretty good at figuring things out, but this didn't even list or number parts and their NO instruction at all for the boom arm. Your way of putting together the hood and spokes worked much better than their directions. Thanks, they should pay you!

Just wanted to say a huge thank you on behalf of myself and my 2 daughters lol I tried setting mine up last week and it was a disaster. I am 41yrs old and my kids said I was like a child having a tantrum after about half an hour of trying to put it together. I even watched other tutorials but they didn't help. I was ready to throw it in the bin as I was sure it was faulty. Luckily I packed it away for a week and have just seen your video. I think I will be able to put it together now without the swearing and stomping of my feet lol thank you so much

You saved my day, too! The description for assembling the parts is very bad. So I looked for somebody like you. Because the sides have not the same length (it is a rectangle as said in the manual) and the rods are inserted in a square, I did not dare to bend the bars so far forward. You showed me how to do it.
