WOW. AMAZING!!!!!!! Thank you for this information. You are a wonderful teacher. This helps me so much. (I do social media for our school and we are on a budget and this is the camera that I have.) This video allowed me to get started with manual camera videos! :)
Thank you for this video! I am recording a talking head video at an outdoor park today, and it's quite sunny. Should I stick to the recommendations here, or are there any modifications I should make?
No problem. If you are outdoor it will be bright so set the iso to 100 and aperture to at least f6.3. You need nd filter; if you don't have it, you have to set the shutter speed to 1/60 or 1/100. Make sure correct your white balance for outdoor.
I personally keep my picture profile in standard with contrast and sharpness in negative 3. Lowering contrast adds little noise while adding a considerable amount of extra dynamic range.
@@diostaylow Yes, but I recently put back my contrast to zero to reduce noise. The sharpness should be all the way down, but the rest is just a matter of preference.
What about the audio quality? Since the camera didn't have audio jack for external mic, i often use my phone to record video in my channel, but have this sony a5000 camera also for taking pictures, never used it for video before due to the poor audio from the camera, any sugguestion?
If you have external monitor recorder, you can record to it via HDMI connection and it should record the camera info. The problem it will also records other info as well.
Allow me to ask: how about the automatic video settings ? I have very decent result filming short moments with the automatic settings on and a 50mm f 1.8 lens. Curious to know your thoughts on it. Thanks.
