We recently switched hosting provider and since then, we no longer receive emails. The new hosting company told me to get the MX records from Microsoft 365 which I was able to get. After putting the MX records from M365 to their DNS server, I still cant receive any emails. What could be wrong?

if you have more than one MX record, make sure the Microsoft's MX record has the highest priority (the lower number). For example, 0 is the highest possible priority. I suggest to remove all MX records except the Microsoft 365 MX record. You can also check DNS records health (within MS 365 settings > Domains) Thanks

Hi. Is the stmp authority play part for mx server? Because my email unable to receive any email, but can send out.

The MX record controls your ability to receive emails. It is expected that you can send emails even if the MX record is not set up correctly. I suggest to check your domain's MX record if you can't receive emails. Use your webmail to confirm if you are actually not receiving emails and discard any issues with your email settings on your email app. Thank you.

It depends. If this is a brand new setup and you are not able to resolve the issue by yourself or with Google support, then you can contact me via email.

Hola Carlos.

Saludos.

I updated my MX record during my email migration from IMAP server to 365, migration went smooth can see the moved emails but I still don't see the priority number in the DNS record list, not sure if thats normal or it just has not replicated on the old server yet its been about 12hrs since I added it, Will I not recieve emails until this priority number shows up?

Sorry about my delayed response. The MX priority is very important if you more than one MX record. The priority should be set when you are adding the MX record within your DNS admin pane//manager. If you have only one MX record, you may no need to worry about the priority and you should be receiving emails in MS 365. I suggest deleting all MX records but the one for MS 365. Thanks

How does the name server come into play here?
@itwithcarlos

When you update the MX record or any other DNS record, you are actually updating the name server. Thank you.
