And it's a bad one. Doesn't mention reamp boxes, doesn't explain why you can't use 2i2 (actually, you can). In fact, I managed to find other videos on this topic and I made a video about it myself on my other channel.
just got some hardware, and just figured out my focusrite can’t handle the hardware😅😅. appreciate it the video help me figure out what was wrong fast. i’m be right back to this video once i upgrade tho.
Are you sure you Focusrite can't handle it? I use Focusrite Scarlett 2i2 2nd Gen and it works fine, you just need to a reamp box (or BOSS pedal) and some tweaking in a DAW
hi, thank you for the video. I have two questions: why the focusrite 4i4 is not effective for this rerouting? also, shouldnt the cables be trs instead of normal jack? thank you, I am about to buy a new audio interface precisely for this purpose..
I know im late but do some of the pedals require certain cables. Or do they all universally work with all of them as long as they're guitar cables? also do certain cables work better than others?
Yeah but the best is to use the 4i4 so you won't need to unplug your monitors and pannig hard left or hard right and it's much simpler but yeah ain't no need for the 18i8 just make sure that fl is setup correctly and you donc use the output that you send the audio from as a monitor or you won't hear the full wet signal.
I have the focusrite 2i4 gen 2.. will effect pedals work good with the interface? Or you recommend getting the 18i8? Why is there difference in quality within them working with pedals?
If you end up using only 1 input and 1 output on your interface. Why won’t a 2i2 work? If I’m using headphones, I can use the 2 outputs since they’re not being used right?
hard to explain but the 2i2 software won’t work. just the way it’s routed and stuff. I mean it’ll work but the signal is bad and u will still hear the dry signal. I really wouldn’t recommend
Does anyone know why I can’t hear the samples being affected in real time when I turn knobs I only hear the results after recording in Edison then I have to switch knobs and record again in Edison
Hey brooo love your videos, Im struggling exactly with what you mentioned, I have the 4i4 but I cant have only the wet signal, why w the 8i8 I will be able and not w a 4i4? I didnt get this part
Hey man, nice tutorial. I have an Audient Evo 8 which has 4 inputs and 4 outputs plus a loopback function so I thought I would be able to hear the full wet signal. But I can only get it to work if I record the audio into the playlist which makes it long to hear what you're doing and you can't tweak in real time if that makes sense? I can o ly seem to get it to work at all if I don't mute the original audio mixer channel. If I mute that nothing works even recording into the playlist. Any assistance would be appreciated as it's fun to mess with the pedals for sure. Thanks in advance
@@prodbyloner thanks for the reply. I've been messing around for a couple of days but best I can do is get it to record into the playlist with the full effects so at least that's something. My mate suggested trying a splitter to output the pedal to FL and headphones so I'm going to try that to see if it helps. Thanks again man, your stuff helps a lot
Hey! Why does the 4i4 not work? I would think that with 2 outputs you could route 1 into the pedal and then this one back into the interface. You would use output 1 for listening the whole thing. What you said is that you could hear the signal with effects on it but not the full wet signal, am I right? Thanks!
@@prodbyloner haha no problem man thanks for the response! even though you cant have the full wet signal with it, could you have the audio with effects added one as I said? I may have the budget for the 4i4 but not the 18i8
@@ColdhandsBeats yeah u will be able to hear the effects but its much harder to hear what youre doing as the dry signal is still there. u can just put an edison on the mixer trakc and record what the pedal is doing. so in short, yeah 4i4 will sort of work ifu want to do it on budget. but i wouldnt recommend
@@prodbyloner ok man thanks for taking the time and explain it. I think I will wait and save some more for the 18i8. Thanks a lot I really appreciate it🙏🏼
So I got my thermae working, do you record the effects onto the piano (for example) once it’s recorded in Edison you can’t tweak the pedal mix effects it’s printed on the instrument? How can I change the mix and have full control if I wanted to change something in the pedal mix? Or once you like the effects you just keep it and record it like that
If i make some automation clips for the hardware effect will those stay saved if i close and reopen the project and be ready to play or do i need to do something evrytme
Hey man, great vid, I just have one question, when I tried it, I got too much weird noise coming out, any idea why? I'm using FL with Crayon pedal by jhs.
Because of you I got this one I meant to get the 18 one talked about in the video 😂😂😂 but your right it still works my Fairfield is making weird buzzing sounds though as if a mic and phone are close together
so you’re gonna plug your monitors into outputs 1 and 2 and go into « monitor control » in the focusrite app and make sure that output 3 (or 4) isn’t selected. Then you plug the input of the pedal into the output of the interface, then the output of the interface into the input of the interface. (either on the back or on the front of the interface but if you do it on the front and select the instrument mode it will be louder). Then in fl studio, you can follow the tutorial in the video. Tell me if it worked!
