This was soooo helpful !! I’ve been trying to work out whether I can just use a tub/bucket underneath a diy bath tub or not and I’m so glad it’s possible I’m definitely doing it once I start up hopefully next year! And thanks for the foam floor tip omg! Thank you so much for this vid it’s answered so many questions I had xx
Well done Maisey. Such great info for someone thinking about setting up their own grooming business. At the moment I'm only playing around with the idea. I'm 54 so this would be my last & final career :-) I' can't wait to see your new business grow and hopefully get to see you doing some grooming. Exciting times for you Maisey. Best of luck
I just seen the Come Groom with me vids & I loved it. Such a nice surprise to watch after seeing your setting up business vid. Short grooming vids of different type dogs gives people a realistic view into your work. Great seeing you up and thriving. You probably don't even need to advertise anymore because word of mouth from happy clients will keep you so busy :-)
Would it be possible to do a video on advertising and getting new customers? I am on the struggle bus but have gotten great feedback from the people who did choose us
Hi there, My partner has set up a grooming room at home in an outhouse, we had to contact the local council to show them what we are doing and if they will allow it. There’s more to it than that but I wanted to explain it in a nut shell, my question I have it have you had any problems with local authorities and keeping it all above board because we may have to apply for planning permission just for the business not the building due to living in a residential area. Many thanks
Some councils want the permission. If the building is used solely as a groom room then they’re more likely to. However, if the outhouse remains as whatever it was before and the groom area is only used 49% of the time/space then it’s more easy to get approved. Do with that information what you will. If it’s a shed for tool store, make sure your tools stay in there is all I’m saying
Sorry rewatched and realised you used the mud daddy at first, can you tell me how you sorted water after this and was the mud daddy good at getting through thick coats?
Loved your video. My daughter has looked at a grooming room to rent, it’s a converted stable that is all kitted out with parking and £100 per week plus electricity. Do you think this is a reasonable amount?
This would be a great topic to discuss on the channel ! Ill film a video soon . Tips to focus on : get clear on your ideal client what would they earn how would they spend their money who do you want to attract and show more or it show your face , people love to see who's behind a brand . Most of all be yourself ! and show it off .
@@maiseysdiary well, I advertise on social media and I have business cards and flyers at stores. And have my pricing set. Not sure if it's covid or if if it's possible they just don't know I am here with petco and pets mart big entity stores just crushing us Lil in home groomers.
@@Finley0312 do you ever show yourself on your pages ? People love to see the groomer behind the work ! They love to have a little insight into your life 🕊
Have you experienced groomers lung or carpal tunnel at all/ do you do anything to prevent them? I am thinking about becoming a groomer but dont know if I want to take those risks
I have experienced real trouble breathing but have invested in a dust mask and I keep it on the entire time . I’m a huge advocate for yoga so constantly stretching . If I was giving anyone advice from my own experience I’d suggest only grooming part time due to the stress it puts the body through . Then doing another job the rest of the week : that’s my end goal now xxx
