Started by business four months ago, still finding my feet! I’m 45 and worked in an office since leaving school! Love your vids. Especially comments from the public when you’re out, I’m certainly learning to rise above 😂😂 xx
Awesome video. I am just starting. FYI...Lint rollers are great for getting Ticks and hair off the dogs and you. I could never walk without a leash. Scared I would loose one. Your so good with them. Well done and thank you.
I saw and ad for a dog walking job near me and realized it was group walks off lead and i chickened out. I wouldn't walk my own one dog off lead let alone a strangers. Just seems so risky. Not knocking people who do i just don't know how to get over my worries about it.
@@instinctivehd652 I walk or bike it my dog clients are all walking distance (3 mile radius)my cat client are all close by (same as the dogs) but my big money is the overnights we’re I can stay at clients houses while there away (will travel farther for them )
Thanks for sharing your experience with us. coming back with an update! I LOVE ROVER!!! It became me and my husband's full time job! I logged my 1 year update on my youtube channel. we made over 230k on rover in one calendar year!! Super duper crazy. i'm just so grateful for the platform
Did u start off with a van? I’ve got a car at the moment with a large boot can easily fit 2-3 dogs, going to start with just insurance and first aid, then when I am fully confident this could work I’ll trade my car for a van
I'm just about to em'bark' on starting my own dog walking business. Do I need any qualifications in order to get insurance and actually take other peoples dogs on walk? I have read up on the insurance and I haven't seen it say that I need qualifications to get the insurance. I'm 35 and have raised a dog from a pup to a pensioner, 18 years old to be exact. Not only my own dog, I have always got on well with all animals. They are my passion, i would rather be around animals than humans tbh lol, so I understand them, I can train them rather easy, not that training will be a part of my business, maybe just basic lead training and recalls. But that will just be a added bonus, I wouldn't charge for that. So anyway what exactly do I need for the insurance? Your help would be greatly appreciated as I'm not great at reading and understand what I'm reading lol. Thank you x.
Why are you scared? The dogs will have the appropriate recall otherwise she wouldn't do it. As a pack leader there's no room for fear on your part 😊 It sets the tone for your pack.
Dog first aid, resusatation, and some sort of animal behaviour course. If you know nothing about dogs... contact your local council and ask them they may even do the courses for free...sx
Thank you for this wonderful video I'm contemplating this as a side business and this is really helpful. As a side note it is unfortunate that you have to spend so much time at the start of your video anticipating petty criticism from people.
When it’s real hot it takes a toll on your body, stay hydrated. Wear sun screen and lip balm. Get a dog bottle with attached cup. Always have treats. When a dog was attacked, I threw treats at the dog to distract. Waterproof shoes and wool socks. A rain poncho you can store away. Timer app on your phone & a phone that takes great pics. Your calf muscles will get real solid too! Getting a massage gun and blasting your legs & feet helps a lot. Get sleep, you’ll need it! Realize that dogs, just like people, have different “dogalities”. You have to figure them out. Take time to stop and bond with them. Scratches, hugs. I notice dogs who are in crates all day might need more attention. Dogs know your mood try to be upbeat and confident, you are their leader.
I want to start a dog gear business, put myself in debt buying a sewing machine and various bits and bobs and I'm scared when I put stuff up for sale no one will buy it lmao
Just start and judge later. At first you won’t be good and sales will be scarce. However if this is truly what you want to do, truly what makes you happy. The results are meaningless, for now you’re free. Life has just begun
Pro tip?! Are you really a professional dog walker? Cause I doubt they have the time to do manual washing (inside OR outside) considering how many towels, let alone everything else, they go through daily.
@@IamaDanish I have my own kennels and baths with 8 hunting dogs + a malamute and husky. Not a professional dog walker no. 😂 But it’s very easy with a pressure washer and quicker than a washing machine cycle.
The small white dog looks absolutely exhausted running behind you. He didn't seem to enjoy this fast walk. If was his owner I wouldn't like to see this. Plus someone asked about which courses to do you did answer this question.
Agree 100%. Honestly, just making a vid and not devoting ALL of your attention to the dogs (what you're being PAID for) is pretty irresponsible. Speaking from experience, I wouldn't even be on the phone whilst walking the dogs. If that were my dog, she'd have lost a client.
