HOW TO: Setup a New Moleskine Notebook 

I can't believe someone made a video on how to set up a notebook and I can't believe I'm watching it!

I never thought I'd find myself watching a video on how to set up a notebook, but now I am online about to order myself a Moleskine because this was actually a pretty awesome way to put your notebook together.

I just have to say WOW! I am a pastor and i have been bouncing around trying to find something. been thinking about doing a leather A% travelers note book but not sure on that. I love this! also i use the same calendar you have there or at least it looks like the same sermon calendar i use. Thank you for this i needed it! going to amazon now! Been using Moleskines for about 7 years now; ever since my father passed away and the whole mortality thing hit me, the (already-strong) need to archive got stronger..Me and my Mum needed to make new memories, and it was heart-breaking, to be honest, so I needed a creative way to deal with this blank-page future we were hurtled into. I have different ways to 'carve-up' a new Moleskine, but I relate to all this you've kindly shared, here. I've even based my paper-products(I'm a freelance illustrator) around the 13*21 format, and also the smaller formats, so those rounded corners become part of the product, as well as the archive-quality paper, which always goes down well with customers. Soon as I get some sharable animations, etc, I'd love to show, not for sales purposes, just for inspiration. I've got some of the Evernote themed ones with the scannable paper that are waiting to be filled, plus just ordered another of the "Passions" range, which is where this journey started. They're so much more than just books to me, as you can tell, memories are just so important, more than ever, in my life. Thanks for the inspiration, sir, keep on keeping on. Blessings :-)

Great video! I prefer the extra large size and have ordered it online. I personally feel that a notebook can work best as a planner because we can customize it as per our needs..

Thanks for the brief and excellent ideas - check out the new Moleskine professional notebook - it has the index and all pages numbered. Different ruled format works well for actions to be completed with room for more details.

Me? My preferred notebook is the paperback style journal Moleskine. They come in a three pack for around $18 to $20 at Staples. The paperback works best for me because I'm constantly in and out of my car and on the go.

Love the video!! You don't find many pastors on RU-vid like this. How do you plan your sermon series a year at a time? Do you use a lectionary? It would be cool if you could do ministry related videos.

Trinity methods: past/review, present recording, future/forward outlook?? Review might be need for weekly things, back pages, when memory is lapse/forgotten todate?

Wow... my old Moleskine's would look so chaotic to you. I just write everything and anything in there. If I do need a calendar I print out the one that Moleskine offers on their website.

So just curious, do you use the notebook just to collect sermon notes in the preparation phase or do you write out your whole sermon in the notebook?

Great video! It was very helpful. I'm curious why you chose this method versus an electronic method. My notes are mostly electronic and has it's own pluses and minuses. I found that I always have my phone, tablet or laptop on me so it's easier to jot a note wherever I am. However, I think I do retain things better when I actually write them out.

The pro notebook from moleskine is better, it comes with numbered pages. This is actually important if you're a professional because you can prove you haven't pulled pages out. Nice to see a video from someone who actually uses these rather than the un-boxing videos which are so useless.

You're giving a reward for the book when the amount of money you're giving away practically costs more than the book itself.

Moleskine is fine it’s just not fountain pen friendly

Can I please point you you did not label the binding (0:50) the binding is the black cover of your book, you labeled what is known as the 'text block' which is the paper you write on.

The year/month is better on the spine so you can see it when you store them side by side. Writing it on the edge of the paper makes no sense to me.

I forgot to ask you one question. What if I don't want to setup a notebook your way? Am I doing it wrong? The best advice is to set it up your own way. Not the way someone else does it. My notebook. My way.

and if according to you, this notebook is going to have so many important stuff in it to the point you have to put a dollar amount as reward to whoever finds it, why would you loose it in the first place??? i figure that something that important according to you, you would guard it all the time.

Why a moleskin and not just use a similair notebook? Not being a jerk, just really curious as to the draw of a moleskin brand. They seem so overpriced for a book of pages and a hard cover.

Selten so einen grotten schlechten Support erlebt. Ich bin Italienerin und das schmerzt es mir zu berichten, wie stereotypisch die Behandlung war: jede Antwort auf meine Anfragen hat ewig lange gebraucht, immer wieder wurde ich auf später getröstet, immer wieder hat den Support „Prüfungen“ von mir angefordert. Die Schreiber ist schlicht und einfach defekt!!! Es schreibt, aber wird nicht unter iOS registriert. Unter Android ist keine einzige Linie komplett übertragen, so dass Zeichnungen und Notizen komplett unleserlich sind. Kann ich auch verstehen, dass einen guten Stück aus der Fabrik defekt raus kommt, aber nicht nur genug davon, dass ich einen Stift nicht habe, die teuer genug war... nein! Ich werde auch noch ver* ohne Ende. Nie wieder Moleskine. Es riecht nach betrügerisches Handel!
