Thank you for this! I know it may seem silly to young people, but us oldies (I'm an x-er), we need our hands held throughout new technology set up. I bought a new (refurbished) one for the first time this week, so I needed instructions that were made 8 years ago. I finally gave in to the post-dvd world, many years after most. 😃 Thank god for RU-vid instruction videos
Oh my gosh! You're video solved my problem in two minutes. I spent 20+ minutes on the phone with Sony and it was quite apparent that the telephone operator was NOT a technician. After telling her she was no help, I turned to RU-vid and found you. Thanks so much for a great explanation.
Thanks for video I hadn’t used my Sony Blue Ray player in a couple years and for some reason I had it plugged into some weird outlet in the back of my TV instead of the HDMI 2 port and it wasn’t working. You reminded to use the HDMI 2 port so I unplugged it from the whatever port and plugged it into the HDMI 2 port and now it works great! 👍 Thanks!
THANKS GEO. Helped a lot. Got my 1st blu ray today and watched you before even reading the instructions! Cool and thanks again. Well made video you recorded. Will see you again for sure.
Such a great step by step instruction video. I will be watching this again for installing my blue ray to my Samsung TV, and for future reference(s). Thank U so much!
I can't get the audio on with my new Sony Blu-ray player. When I first set it up it worked. Now I can't get it on no matter what I try. What am I doing wrong? Getting ready to go nuts pretty soon!
You always connect home theater to HDMI ARC(Audio Return Channel) tv input so you have both video and sound via one HDMI cable.Connecting to other HDMI tv input you gonna need an additional cable (like fibre optic) to get sound back.
Have you used the digital coaxial audio out on this model? I just bought a projector and am trying to connect this model to it. The projector takes HDMI but is not compatible with Dolby 5.1 audio. I can switch the audio output to PCM, but Id rather have the Dolby 5.1 go to my stereo. I have the digital coaxial to 3.5mm hooked up to my stereo with the HDMI to the projector but the audio does not go to the stereo. Any idea why the digital coaxial cable does not take the audio when the Blu Ray is connected to the projector by HDMI?
I watched your video, and I have the same Sony Blue-Ray/DVD player, but no sound is coming out. It's a good video you made and followed step by step. Totally confused.
Now it's simple to hook it on tv with the HDMI, but I want the sound to come off from the theatre.... how do I connect the blueray's sound to the theatre ?
thanks you saved the night 5/16/17 bought dv wifi wireless wasn't able too connect wireless yet as long as i can watch a dvd I'm good got rid of cable just use wifi for computer thanks your vid is easy and simple you save the night ...
OK, it looks like a common problem with the wireless vs the wired and having it stuck on wired. I have the same issue with my Insignia TV - brand new mind you. So, can you explain how to switch it over to wireless? Or like the rest on this page, not answer the question?
I followed your steps exactly, but it wont show anything on the tv screen where it says No Signal. I set it up to my sons t.v. which was just taking out of the box today, so theres no cable hooked up to his room yet, but that shouldnt matter?? right..? I do have wifi, but it wont give me any options... The blu ray turns on, opens etc., & the t.v. inputs on hdmi2/bluray. Could it possiably be the HDMI cord im using? Thanx for the video, i know this should be fairly simple to do, so this is buming me out big time!
I have a HDMI connection DVD player. To connect to my tv, will I be able to hear through the surround sound speakers. I also have the expensive 5 color coded plug ins. HELP
Hi Geo, I have only used my player a few times but now I only get a picture, no sound. I've checked the hdmi cable, updated the software, volume is up. Any ideas?
When I choose Wireless set up, I get an error message: USB Wireless LAN adapter cannot be found. Why is that? I have a Sony BDP S3100, which has the built in wireless. Can you share what I might be doing wrong?
Great video everything proven in time with internet you always got keep updated now vhs tapes don't stop playing at all like internet does in time when it needs updated everything proven broken vhs tape itself is fixable with Scotch tape it starts playing again with out no problem's everything proven online now days
I wanna setup a broadband connection to mine so I can access BD Live. Will it accept a broadband connection if I just use a bridge with an Ethernet cord?
😂😂😂 I ADVISE you and trust me I have owned both DVD 📀 and Blu Ray for years You may not want to be so quick to throw out that DVD Player and trust me how much it pissed me off that my blue ray will not accept all of my DVDS so I keep both players on my tv since we are talking Sony here 😎
I only want the player to play blu ray , dvds and music cds for I have a roku box for my apps so would I have to download the player to WiFi for it to work ?
Would have been nice to see how fast it loaded the disc, but you clearly edited the video... Would have liked to see the uncut version to get an idea of the load speed...
My tv is a RCA with Hdmi 1 and 2 but does not work with my new with a new sony BDPBX370 BM2 tried both hdmi it did not work in hdmi One but when put in hdmi 2 but the picture went pink and so did the picture with a Dvd in it. So what am I doing wrong
Accidently got the old sony version of blue ray so we will have to go back and get. a different one.. this one does have netflix though hoping the Samsung will. I can't connect this one at all and it turned off my tv.
Sony DVD S3700 Wi-Fi works great! I am able to access included apps, like Amazon Prime and Netflix. But I am using it away from my home and want to access Spectrum/Charter cable through the Sony like I would with a Roku stick. Does anyone know if it is possible?
You hooked up an HDMI cable and then chose 'wireless'. It's stuff like this that blows my mind. Tried hooking mine up and could not get it to play, now I can't get my tv back.
do you know how I can reset my sony blue ray dvd player? I had it hooked up to a different internet provider i had and now moved and I do not get the set up screen. . How can I get that setup to appear again? thanks
I put a DVD in my new Sony player then turned it on, nothing appeared TV screen. Finally, in desperation, took DVD out and unit initialized with some inputs. Now I would like to get player remote fully integrated with TV so I can toggle between Cable TV and DVD, access player menus, etc. I did not connect Wifi via ethernet, my player has only ethernet cable input. Argggh! have to deal with cable, TV and player remotes.
I have the SAME DVD player so as you know, it only has one hdmi port. My tv also only has one hdmi port that is occupied by my cable box. Do you know if I use a USB cord that has the USB plug on both sides if I can use that to connect DVD player to my tv? If I do, will I still get picture AND sound? I really don't want to have to unplug my cable box every time I want to watch a movie...
