Edit: In the second setup, The "TO PHONES/CR" button should NOT be engaged. The USB audio coming back through Channel 9/10 doesn't go to the Control Room output when this button is pressed. Only mics and instruments physically connected to the channel strips of the mixer are bypassed through to the Control Room with this button engaged. You can see in my live shots of the setup that I didn't have that button pressed.

What a great video! couldn't be better than this actually! most of the other videos on youtube miss some parts and mostly the importance and complication of audio in streaming! you did such a generous valuable content!

That is odd. Especially if you had it working before... I'm not sure what's going on there.

Amazing video, thank you for the detail and especially the diagrams - super helpful! I'm trying to manage simultaneous Teams meetings on 2 computers and trying to run them through my ProFX10v3. I want to be able to listen to audios from both Teams meetings and speak to both meetings, but both Teams meetings shouldn't be able to hear each other (i.e., they need to be isolated). In order to do this, I've used a 3.5mm Y-splitter to pass the headphone part into the line inputs of the mixer (Lines 5/6 and 7/8). My headphones are connected to the line out of the mixer and into the mics of the 2 computers. I would prefer to use line 9/10 as you've done, as the Y-splitter isn't great for sound quality but not sure how else I can set this up. I haven't given this a test run yet and also wonder if the mixer will isolate the sounds from each meeting. Any suggestions will be greatly appreciated!

Thanks for the comment. I think the way you have it set up should work. The only other thing you could try is to run one of the computer's Team audio back through the USB 3/4. But, you can only do that with one of the computers, obviously. I think the audio quality coming out of the headphone jacks will probably be usable.

This is a well-explained video and very well done, thank you!. 9:36 How do you set this up? I'm using Teams and would like to be able to talk to the online talent without audio coming out of the in-room speakers.

Thanks for your comment. I've never tried doing that, and I'm not sure if it can be done on this mixer. There is only one stream of audio going from the mixer into the computer through to the Teams participant, which is the main mix that includes all audio channels. You can't send two streams of audio, one that's the main mix and one that is just one specific channel for the talent to hear.

With these videos that I'm producing, I'm editing everything in post, so the stuff I don't want, like me speaking to the talent, just gets edited out. If you're doing a live broadcast that is being recorded, you may not be able to talk to the talent without everyone else hearing it...

Thank you for this great video. I am running something that combined your 2 settings. I am using Mackie ProFx6 v3 (but I am planning to upgrade to ProFx12 v3) I am also using OBS as virtual camera for Zoom and for recording as well. I am using (USB 3-4) to get music from the computer during the meeting and I would like to record music and inputs from mics on separate tracks in OBS, can you please help me with that? thank you.

In OBS, if you open the Advanced Audio Properties dialogue box, (Right-click on any of your audio mixer inputs > Advanced Audio Properties,) there are a bunch of check boxes on the right hand side. That is where you can select which of your OBS audio captures get recorded to separate tracks. So, each of the audio inputs you have running into OBS can be recorded as it's own audio track that is included with your final OBS video recording. This is really handy. That being said, all of the mics and inputs that you have connected to your ProFX mixer will only be able to be recorded on one of those audio tracks in OBS, since the ProFX is not a multitrack mixer. The best you can do in that regard is, if you are using only 2 microphones, is to pan one mic to the right and one mic to the left so they are on the two stereo channels. Hopefully this helps you out a bit.

Hello. What kind of cable(s) are you running from the L & R Control Room outputs on the mixer to both cameras (diagram around 4:25)?
@andystandys
@andystandys 7 месяцев назад
Thanks for your question. I have a "J&D 3.5mm to Dual 1/4 TS Stereo Breakout Cable." (If you Google that it should come up on Amazon.) I then plug in a 3.5mm headphone splitter into that, with 3.5 mm extension cables that go to the cameras. Let me know if that makes sense.

You can kinda see it at this point in the video. 7:02. You can also see that I have a shorter HOSA one, that ends in 1/4" female TRS jack.

@@andystandys Thank you! Will check it out. I was planning on using an Atem Mini Pro plus mixer for a Teams hybrid meeting, but this seems to be a nice alternative. Will have online participants too who will be asking questions and the in-house audience will need to hear them through the PA speakers.

@@Farscape001 Great, yes - this would definitely work for that. I don't know too much about the Atem Mini, but having a dedicated audio mixer is always a good tool to have.

Wonderfull Video, thank to teach us so nice. Hope to see more. One question : the USB output from mixer to the computer is Line(ProFX), this signal include any of the usb output signal from computer (ProFx1-2 ProFx 3-4) or only the physical inputs (mic inputs and setreo inputs) to the mixer? Thanks
@andystandys
@andystandys 7 месяцев назад
Thanks for you your comment! The Line (ProFX) is just the physical inputs coming out of the mixer. If it also included the USB input coming back into the mixer from the computer, I think you'd end up with some kind of feedback loop...

@@andystandys can you check if in the control panel of mackie drivers, you can set the volume of the inputs to config as you want the USB Line to the computer (as a digital aux send) ? Thanks. For example if you only want to send 1 2 and 5-6
