LOL, you don't need to hit the action button to activate Alexa!!!! You just have to use your voice and say "Alexa" and then ask your question or give the command you want. I can't believe you didn't know this!!! That's why these devices are called "voice" assistants! It would be pretty inconvenient and a bit distracting to have to push the action button as you're driving along. Also, if you do use the action button, you don't have to say "Alexa" you just go ahead and ask your question or give your command.
Hey man can I ask you something. Does this work to play music apps while you're in a call on your phone? I'm annoyed af by the fact every time I use bluetooth on my phone but get in a call I can't play my music apps without the voice / audio from the call with it. Only reason I was even thinking about getting this alexa auto.
How to connect alexa echo auto to car Bluetooth cos I tried several times but it's not pairing. My app is ON in mobile and also the car Bluetooth but still it wud not connect. Please help. Thankx
Great demo! My cars don't have Bluetooth or an aux jack so I use an old FM transmitter plugged into my lighter that has a built-in aux jack and it works fine!
I have a 2009 Audi A3. When I go to set up the Echo Auto with the Aux connection in the device and the car, the Echo does not see it. I have tried all the settings on the dash. None of them work for this. I can see it in the Echo and my iPhone when I use the other connection, but there is no sound. I don't know how to connect it to my car. I have Bluetooth that works with my iPhone for calling and receiving calls in the car. There is no "Bluetooth" like you show in the Chevrolet. Help!!
@@TheWizardofWestLA Thank you! I figured it out awhile ago. I realized I had to start the dongle I had already been using followed by the auto one. I have to say that the sound improved tremendously with the auto device added! I am not terribly impressed with the Alexa app running things, but I am managing. I normally listen to RU-vid Music, and it doesn’t support that. I was using Amazon Prime music which is terrible, so I switched back to Apple.
if your Alexa Auto in connected to your Android phone with the Alexa app and the same phone is connected to the Echo hub in your home, can you ask it to turn on the outdoor lights or disengage the security system (assuming you have both and they work w Alexa)?
Hi, i see that your car is capable of making calls through bluetooth and music as well but why did you choose the option of "No"? May i know why please?
Thank you, this was wonderful and very helpful, I am wondering if you can use 2 smartphones with this Echo Auto, It seems my husbands smartphone won't connect but mine did immediately. I am trying to use each phone at different times, not at the same time. Thank you again!!
Can I use this to play music apps like spotify & so on in my car. while being in a call on my phone at the same time without them interfering with each other?
This device works w/o pushing the button. Just use the "wake word" . . . Alexa + question or command. Question: Is the power constantly pulling power from the battery? Mine stays active even when the ignition is OFF, making me concerned my battery is draining. When ignition is off I can ask Alexa to do something and it "tries" to respond, though I can't hear it thru the speakers when ignition is off (stereo power is connected to ignition). But the blue light comes on, indicating it is listening for the wake work and responding. It also stays connected to my phone via Bluetooth while I'm in the house and car is in garage. Anyone else have these issues? Amazon says my car is unique in the cigarette lighter being connected directly to the battery vs. the ignition. I highly doubt this, as most cars' cig. lighters are connected directly to the battery and thus constantly pulling power. I'm trying to find a solution to these issues. Anyone?
Brian Isaacson yes it will pull power from the battery. It looks like you have a situation where the battery is directly connected to your cigarette lighter. So I understand why it is responding that makes a lot of sense to me. And yes you’re right it does use the wake word.
You open the Alexa app and then touch on the devices icon in the lower right corner. Then hit the plus (+) icon in the top right to add a device. Then touch on "Amazon Echo" and it should be in that list.
Trying to listen to the radio on the Echo has suddenly become a nightmare. Every time you start up the Echo radio, change to a new station, pause and resume for even a few seconds; they start running a new set of commercials for sports betting websites and other nonsense. They are relentless !! It's the same commercials over and over and over !! If you want to start the day by checking who the host is on one station and then decide to switch to a different station, you could easily be subjected to 10 minutes of commercials IN ADDITION TO the commercials the radio station is running. Whose fault is this, Audacy or Amazon ? If you are someone who changes stations more than a couple of times an hour, forget it. You are going to be overwhelmed with redundant commercials. I bought the echo to listen to the radio but all these extra commercials are causing me to go back to my old fashioned radios and just listen to local radio. I am not buying ANY more ECHO devices until this gets fixed !! Who can we complain to ?? WRZ 2021-07-18 Delaware County, PA
Interesting video with good set-up instructions, but I don't think you quite understand how to operate this device. The Amazon Echo Auto is made to take away the distractions of having to use your radio or cell phone while driving. Your commands are purely voice commands and not necessitating the need to press the Echo button. Try just saying Alexa, and give her a voice command. Hopefully you are using voice commands with your home Alexa devices and not running over to push the optional command button. Thanks.
