Bro..Thanks for this... your vids helped me decide to sell my KW181s & 15" tops for a smaller setup. I ran a single Sub2 the other night for a small function @80 ppl. Figured it was overkill but i wanted to get a feel for it. To my surprise it clipped pretty early...(input knob at 12oclock & LPF mode) can't front i was disappointed. Can't say it sounded bad, just the early clip light didn't inspire confidence... also noticed a burning smell, like hot rubber. Sound was a bit muddy as well... sounded loose & out of control. (I'm running a DDJ FLX10 to external mixer to DBX driverack, sub 2 received its own dedicated low freq signal from the xover ) Before i panic, i will update the firmware & see if that helps tighten things up, i heard the latest update addresses the input db threshold before clipping. Not sure if you updated yours or not to get the level of use you get from them. Thanks bro
This is me clipping my Sub 2s. But we had the volume all the way up. I noticed you said your using a driverack. I don't have much experience with those but if your running directly from your mixer to the sub and then to the speakers, you should be fine. Also make sure your mixer is properly leveled. Channels 1 and 2 should not be at 12 o'clock on your mixer. They should be around 10. Thanks... yes the entire sound system is properly Gain Stuctured from Dj Software to Speakers... FLX10-->Behringer XR12-->DriveRack PA2-->RCF 732A MK4 + Bose Sub2(s) pretty much at unity throughout with plenty of headroom. Nothing ever in the "Red" across the signal chain. **Update: I recently updated the firmware and noticed a significant increase in fidelity & spl before clipping, however this was just a backyard test with a single Sub2 & cp12 via Bluetooth... but at this level & space, the sound was really really impressive! I picked up 1 more Sub2, I'll also update that one and will be running them @ my next gig Dec 2nd. Looking forward to coupling them as well. Also also... have you noticed ANY measurable difference between stacking them Horizontally vs Vertically? Thanks again bro... thanks #grind
@DJBpartyTV Updating made all the difference...you may already be running the latest version firmware thus you've never had an issue with early clipping, also the more Subs you run, the less each one needs to work, so you also may not have needed to push any single Sub2 that hard either.
@@djrichnice4996 the only time I've ever experienced early clipping is when I was using the sub match cable with the pro 32. However I didn't like the pro 32 and I always run my mixer to the subs and then out to the mains. Sounds very good in this configuration. 😎

Thinking about getting i have to ev 15s right now 1000 watt evs forgot the model. I dj and go from r&b, afro, dembow, ect...do they respond good to the change? And i do a local bar thats always packed small bar low ceilings.
If you add a sub 2 to your setup It will be a major upgrade to your overall bass response. Go through my older videos where I'm only using 1 sub and check the bass. Sounds really good. If you get two it'll be it'll be chestnut bass. not saying that it won't be with one. 😎
I’ve got some rcf art 912a’s and thinking of adding 2 x sub 2’s would you set the sub the same as you’ve done here ? Also there is no mention of crossover frequency from Bose when using 3rd party mid tops 🤷🏻 do you know what it is ? Cheers 👍🏻
I think the Sub2 cuts bass at 100 or 150h which basically translates to no bass whatsoever through your tops. The sub2 handles all the bass. Not sure how it pairs with other brand speakers but I believe in not exceeding the Subwoofer DB levels with a louder DB Top speaker. The Sub2 is rated at 129.6DB. My Loudest top speaker is a QSC CP12 @126DB and pairs perfectly with the Sub2. However, I am considering getting either K12s or Bose 812s for when I use my Sub2s double stacked because the Cp12s can't quite keep up when playing at higher volume. (Too much bass) Hope this helps. 😎
Hi! Just watched this video and I have a pro 32 with sub 2 as well. Mine turns itself off when I think it's clipping. Tends 2 do it when I use more power in my vocals. Could u tell me more about connecting ur mixer to the sub 2 and then running it 2 the l1 unit. I don't wanna wreck or blow anything so can u give me a step by step on how 2 do this please, with what connections and channel 2 use on the unit. And will it give me more power and less chance of clipping? I don't even put my sub on half way as I'm so scared of it clipping. So embarrassing when I'm singing on a gig and it all turns off. How are u powering the sub? Just a normal kettle lead? I'm not looking to add speakers, just the best sound and volume for my Pro 32 and sub 2. I use a yamaha mg10xu mixer. Ur help would be so appreciated.
For some odd reason Bose recommends you use your sub match cable from the pro 32 to the sub too but I believe it sounds better from the mixer to the sub to the pro 32. Pretty much just followed this video exactly except for you want to set your subwoofer to L1. However you could just follow this video exactly and see how your system sounds. Ultimately it should sound better running your mixer to your sub and then out to your pro 32. The only time in my opinion it might sound better the other way around is if you're doing on stage performances and you're plugging straight into the pro 32 and then out to the sub 2.
I use pro32/sub2 with T4 tonematch ? I use tonematch cable to connect to pro 32 then sub match to sub 2. In this scenario would you still recommend using HPF setting.
@@sazprodj it's been a while since I had my pro 32 but you would have to play around with the settings on the back of the sub to get it the way you want it to sound. I usually run my mixing board to my subs and then out to my mains but for some reason Bose suggest you do otherwise they want you to go into the pro32 and then submatch cable out to the subwoofer but it sounds terrible in my opinion.
Most likely. 😎 I would say try it and give it a listen and switch between the modes to see what you prefer. However I always suggest running your mixer to the sub and then out to your main's not to your mains and then out to the sub that way you can gain full benefits of the crossover in the subwoofer.
Kind of sort of but it's kind of a frequency of range that you don't miss. At the end of the day it's pretty much a subwoofer tweeter setup once you use the s1 pro mode. The subwoofer tries to cover most of the frequencies that the s1 can't.
To which speaker does the audio source connect when using S1 and Sub1? I’m using blue tooth in the S1 to connect to source and plugging keyboard into S1 and then running cable from S1 to Sub1. Is that ok? Or should I go the other way?
If you're using the Bluetooth of the s1 speaker then it's best to hook it up that way. However if you're not using Bluetooth then you want to run everything through the sub. The subwoofer has a crossover that gets the s1 pro louder than it can go on it's own. Really all the subwoofer is doing is eliminating all the bass to the s1.
@@DJBpartyTV Thanks much. I want to use the S1 as a mixer and send my keyboards to it on two of the inputs and use Bluetooth to receive backing track from phone. Then those 3 inputs go out the line out to the sub. I’ve tried it and it will work this way, but am I going to break it or get muddy output? I don’t need a lot of volume but I do need clarity and full frequency response. Part of my backing tracks are drums which need to punch. If not I’ll have to add a mixer then send a single output to sub which will drive S1. I’ve tested this to. Works fine. Not sure I hear any difference using the green light cutover. But adds another device. Thanks
@@sglynn yeah a lot of people don't hear the difference but it does take more of the lower frequency range out of the s1 pro so that you can get it louder than a normal crossover point
In all honesty I could not closely compare these to another subwoofer. The bass clarity of the SUB2 is phenomenal. I haven't yet heard a subwoofer that puts out this kind of bass in a "Mobile DJ" footprint. For $1299 a sub, I can't say there is anything in that price range that can beat it without being too heavy and/or possibly not even sounding as good. The best compliments I get is when I use them outdoors. 2 subs is plenty for any outdoor occasion. I have videos on my channel where I've used only 2 subs outside for an event and it was clean PURE bass. To me personally, these QSC, JBL, EV, RCF subs are all missing one thing that Bose has been figure out is that the driver in Bose subs are built like car subs. They move way more air than a regular DJ woofer which is usually treated papercone or something similar. Even if you go back and look at the F1 Subwoofer it has two 10's that look like car subs. Basically Bose has figured out a way to maximize airflow in a compact footprint. Smaller boxes with stronger speakers. Personally I think this subwoofer beats out anything between a 12 and a 15. I don't own any S1 Pro speakers. Use any as you wish. The benefit is not having any bass go through your top speakers. It allows the Sub2 to handle all bass frequencies. It's the best mode in my opinion.
If you are running your mixer to your pro32 and then out to the sub, I would not do it this way. I would do it from your mixer out to your subwoofer and then out to the pro32. Put your subwoofer in HPF / LPF. This should sound good and not make your subwoofer overheat. I've never had my subs overheat on me.
Cause I don't use an L1 Pro32. I use 8inch tops or 12s. The Sub2 sounds best in this configuration. If you have an L1 system then set yours to L1. I do not recommend using the sub match cable running from the pro 32 it sounds terrible and it clips the sub very early. When I did own my L1 pro32 I ran my mixer to my sub and then out to the L1. Game changer.
