is it possible to use 3 monitors but the 2 side monitors be a lower res then the center monitor? example 4k center and 2 1080p monitors flanking on either side ?
Hi Keegan, I think the work around would have to be downscaling the 4K monitor to 1080p to get everything to play nice. I've heard of people having issues when trying to get different monitors and resolutions to work together. Once downscaled I would hope thr setup process would then be the same as in the video. For the life of me I could not get my triple LG 55” C1 OLEDS to line up in AMS2. I followed your guide regarding the pixel ratio and that fixed it! Thanks that helped a lot as well as your other videos on iRacing and ACC…ACC had to edit the menu file what a pain 😊👍🏼 thanks again

Thanks for the video guide, very straight forward. Regarding quad screens I still have the issue where I need to remove the 4th screen otherwise AMS2 wont pick up the triple configuration, actually reverts to single screen. Will use a tool called Display Magician to switch between 3 and 4 screen display profiles to smooth the process. Edit - Not using surround for multi monitor.

I have use triple screens for a couple of years now and always had slight misalignment in AMS2, i just thought it was a Madness engine this because my numbers where correct, well it turns out i needed to set the height using the pixel pitch x 1080 before my screens would line up, not just 60cm width x 34cm height but rather 0.3114 x 1080 = 33.63cm for height. I used your method but couldn't get get the exact pixel numbers but luckily AOC has it in my monitors specs :D I've posted your video in the AMS2 forum because i think this is the best instructions and i hope Reiza sticky this video when / if they finally have a guide. As for my numbers, so it was effective viewing area of 597.88/1920=0.31139. Amazing now, thanks again, other than that i had to vertical offset 0.03000 the left and --0.03000 for the right. My screens are AOC 27G2 1080p screens.

Thank you!!! Great explanation of this completely inane triple screen setup process. I've literally been at this for days, so frustrating. Can't imagine why it has to be so complex when it's so straightforward in other sims. I'm running AMD Eyefinity bezel corrected on 3 x 1680x1050 (22") screens, which shows up as an in-game resolution of 5340x1050. This meant I had to use the bezel-corrected resolution as my ratio for calculating vertical height, so 51cm / 1780 (not 1680) * 1050, and zeroed out the in-game bezel settings. Now I can enjoy the sim at last without looking at that misalignment. Thanks again, liked and subbed (100th sub!)

Hi mate, 8 months ago I followed your steps and they worked perfectly! I've just upgraded my monitors, and for some reason going back to try set them up I can't get it to show my right or left monitor even with the triple monitor spanning ticked. I've deleted config file, etc, to no joy? Even trying to change the centre monitor settings, they immediately revert back to 0.00. Have they changed the way it works or am I just unfortunate? lol. Nothing has changed. It should all work as per the guide. I run this regularly. If you have a 4th monitor sometimes it doesn't like it. Run it in surround too 👍🏻

Hi Chris, thanks for the comment! RBM sent you here?! I think if you have a play around with the bezel widths in the settings this is achievable. You might have to zero it or go negative. Funny enough I have a set of the bezel free kits and have a video planned shortly 👍🏻

Could not get left and right monitor to show in game in options. found a solution re install Nvidia drivers and select fresh install, once done go to settings and triple screen spanning in game settings tick and untick triple screen spanning and then all three screen options show up!
So i used this video in the past and it worked great. But since an update I no longer get all screens showing up when clicking triple screen. Also any values I click just change back to 0.00 when clicking off the line. This as you can imagine has just made AMS2 undrivable for me. Don't suppose you know of any fixes? Is there a place to say your using tiples else ware?

The calculator now allows adjustment for curved screens if you are following the radius of curvature exactly. However, if you are not following the radius of curvature exactly, I would draw an imaginary line from edge to edge and just set it up as if it was a flat screen. Hope that helps 👍🏻
HI, good video. Question the fov tool , you highlight the hFOV , used by AMS2. where do you use this value. I have tweaked my camera fov in the camera settings, but i can not get anything over 120.
Thank you for the feedback👍🏻 AMS2 does not use the hVOV directly. It will be running a formula using trigonometry to calculate this from your distance away and angle of your monitors. The angle you need to put into AMS2 is the angle of the monitors as is dictated by the tool. Hope that helps.
As far as I am aware you just set it up without bezel correction in NVIDIA. I have still yet to set mine up. They have been in the box for a while. I'll post something as soon as I've figured it out 👍🏻
Hey friend.. WHen I go to the Performance Options, there is only 1 option of size and it is like for 1 monitor only... Is there something I need to do before it ? I don't want to use the Nvidia Surround
Good video. I made a few posts on the Reiza forums a couple years ago with similar detail on using the aspect ratio to calc the vertical height (as Note2YBK...original post #80491). Had thought about making a video, but never got around to it. It wouldn't have been as well presented as yours...job well done. This will hopefully help many people.

@@TraumaTeamRacing LOL…yeah…I was a bit pleased with my bezel calc if I say so myself. And if you truly want to know how: I figured, the bezel-corrected resolution is telling us the pixel count needed to cover 3x horizontal resolution plus the 2 gaps between the screens. Keeping in mind that those 2 gaps are not the bezel widths, but the hypotenuse of the triangle formed by the bezels. Since we know the angles involved, can use some trigonometry to calculate the relation between those gaps and the bezel. Measuring one monitor gives the physical width for 1 pair of bezels plus 1x horizontal resolution. And will all that considered, can calculate the width of a pixel…and then the bezels widths. And in my case, to a much greater precision than able to measure with a ruler. Of course, all depending on using the same model for all 3 monitors…and correctly setting up Nvidia Surround first.

I wonder what I'm doing wrong. I have triple AOC 32" curved monitors (1500R curve) and using the Asus bezel free kit. I followed this and I still have vertical alignment issues, but also when I change the bezel width in-game it doesn't seem to really change anything. I went from 0 to -0.18 and it pretty much looks the same. Wonder if I need to do the bezel correction with Surround without the bezel free kit installed, then re-install it once I get that set? I know Race Beyond Matter has it working so I must be screwing up somewhere.
This shouldn't be happening if you have followed the guide. I have heard some users having issues after they have tweaked the files for their VR settings. You haven't done this have you?
I have another question. When you're showing how to measure the angle of the monitor, it looks like your 60° mark is at the center of the bezel. Is this where the 60° mark should be or are you showing that your monitor needs to be adjusted? If it's because it needs to be adjusted, should the measurement of 60° be to the front edge or back edge of the monitor? Thanks again.

Thank you for the geometry class. It really helped. One issue though: on gt3 etc cars the side mirror appears too big. Unlike R3E can we change the side monitor alignment too.
You are very welcome. Thank you for the comment👍🏻 I race GT3 quite frequently and I haven't had any issues with side mirror scaling. I'd double check the calculations again and make sure they're all satisfactory. Sometimes adjusting the seating position can help too. If you set things up correctly you shouldn't need to adjust the side monitor alignment. Hope that helps👍🏻
@@TraumaTeamRacing I understood where I was wrong. On triple monitor settings on options only centre monitor option was visible, checking/unchecking the option suddenly shows the left and right monitors. Maybe it's a bug, but anyways your calculations really helped.
Hi fantastic video can I ask you a question though what if I have triples but here is mine as follows 1x 49” 5120x1440 2x 27” 2560x1440 As nividia won’t recognise the third monitor on set up I can only seem to get iracing to work without nividia but AMS 2 it’s all distorted
Hi there, thanks for kind words. It should recognise the different resolutions when you go into the triple monitor section in the sim. Some have mentioned issues with having a 4th monitor plugged in so make sure that is unplugged with AMS2 if you have one. Some have also mentioned issues with steam VR settings so make sure those aren't interfering. The concerning part is that the monitor is not recognised by NVIDIA which sounds like a compatibility issue. Have you tried updating the firmware on the GPU? Does the issue replicate if you try a different monitor substituted for the one that isn't recognised?

Just hooked up my triple screens and this video helped a lot. Thank you. But I have a question. If I disable the surround to be able to play race titles that don't support triple screens (Forza), when I come back to turn the triple screens back on I have to go through the whole process of configuring screens and bezel. Does it not save your set up?
It doesn't matter mate. I run surround all the time. You can just select what resolution you want to run things at within the game itself. Just select your chosen resolution and you're good to go👍🏻

Hey there, thank you for the kind words. From my understanding it shouldn't make a difference with the bezel free kit it just refracts the light. I believe there is an optimum angle for the screens so you might have to compromise on your FOV. I wasn't going to put it on my triples as apparently the perspex edges are quite sharp and can scratch the screen. If I scratched them it would annoy me forever😅
@@TraumaTeamRacing I see. :) I Love a Bezel Free Surround Image. Yes its a compromise. Ideal Angle is 130°> The thing with bezel Free Kit is, you cannot use Nvidia Surround. So I dont know how to Set this up properly.
What about the fov settings for cockpit in game options? How did you setup? My triples stand is at its max angle which is 64 or narrower, the recommended angle would be 62 and I think this prevented everything from being perfect but it's much nearly. Thanks for the guide.
You are very welcome! Glad it helped you out👍🏻 The camera is just the seating position. Just adjust it to how where you would like to sit in the car. It doesn't alter the 'calculated FOV'. I use where the steering wheel is in the car as a guide and adjust from there. Hope that helps 👍🏻

When it comes to inputting screen size do we still input 32in for a curved screen despite it being around 27in point to point from one corner to the other?
Ok now that I have ditched Surround because it wont let me use HDR I now have the issue in AMS2 that under triple screen all I see is the center screen even though Triple Screen Spanning is selected 🤦🏻♂️. It’s always something!
Figured it out…I’m using a 7” DDU dash that uses an HDMI cable so it is seen as a screen. With the 4” “screen” connected AMS2 freaks out and doesn’t know how to handle it. Disconnect my DDU and it works just fine. Thankfully I have a DDU on order that doesn’t use an HDMI cable.

This would be genius. Particularly those who are GPU restricted. Unfortunately I think this would be AMD or NVIDIA needing to provide the option for this and not the game 🤔
So I have done all this but still have a big problem. The image on the right monitor is misplaced on the physical screen. Basically I have a 1 inch black bar at the end of the monitor but the full image is displayed and creeps into the center monitor. Its like the image needs to be pulled back to fit the screen correctly. I cant get rid of it. Settings for L and R monitors are the same but this only happens on one side.
I'm not sure. Sometimes there are issues if a 4th monitor is connected and maybe run the surround alignment tool again to see if that fixes it. There is also sometimes issues if you have monitors of different sizes.
nvidia surround is awful, it just freezes and crashes on mine...or it makes my main centre monitor black out...if i move the monitors as my computer identifies them then "apply" is greyed out
@@mikelewis9770 This is not an NVIDIA problem. It sounds like you could have a faulty driver installed. I run NVIDIA preferentially and have no issues.
Hi mate, just trying this setup but when inputting pixel width into left screen it auto defaults to the physical width instead of the pixel width. Any ideas? Cheers. Just happening on left screen input. When start a race 1/3 of screens is ok, 2/3 is stretched out
This sounds like a file error maybe. Try reverifying the files in Steam and then if that doesn't work a fresh install perhaps. Also make sure all your monitors are the same spec and connected via the same type of cable.

I’ve followed your RU-vid channel for a short while now and wanted to say thanks for taking the time to do your videos, they are very insightful and enjoyable to watch. I have a question for you. I have triple C1 monitors/tvs on my sim rig setup running an RTX 4090 and I cannot for the life of me get this set up correctly. Resolution set at 12348x2160 Distance 87cm FOV set at 72 Angle on side monitors 72 deg Physical width set at 123 Pysical height set at 70 Bezel width 2cm on the center monitor, each C1 has a 1cm bezel on left and right For some reason the side monitors are way off, like they are skewed compared to the center monitor. If you would be so kind can you take a look at my resolution I’m running and the other settings to see if they are right because it’s driving me nuts…thanks in advance!

All new to this but got a question that might be dumb lol. But what number should I put under camera-cockpit camera to get the correct fov? Got pretty much the same setup you do. Tripple 1440 58" angle and around 60cm from eyes
No such thing as a silly question. Important to note the FOV does not change. Your position in space in the car changes. Set it to what you feel is comfortable. As you would when driving a real car. I like to use the position of the wheel in the cockpit as a rough guide and adjust from there. But it is very much personal preference.

Hi, I’ve got everything working in terms of alignment but the FOV was wrong. I still had to go into options > camera and set the calculated value in for the cockpit. It’s like it you are setting the FOV based on the centre monitor then it uses the triple screen values to calculate the 2 outer monitors.
@@TraumaTeamRacing only 3 connected. Sorry if my explanation didn’t make sense. I was using a larger FOV of 52° on a single screen before switching to triple. From the FOV calculator with my measurements I get a single screen FOV of 44°, and a triple of 135°. Input all the values to AMS2 and restarted, all 3 screens working and edges seem to like up but the FOV is too large. Go into the settings and the cockpit FOV still shows my original 52° setting not 44° or 135° as calculated. If I manually change the setting to 44° then everything looks correct. Not sure if this is making any more sense than my last explanation but I have adjusted my distance to the screen and recalculated the values, doesn’t make any difference what I type into the triple settings page I still have to manually go to camera settings and set the FOV to the new value as it retains the previous setting.
Not to worry mate. This sounds like a bug to be fair. I've never had it do this. Have you considered doing a fresh install. I'd also give this a go running with and without surround to see if you can get it to win. Sounds like it doesn't know whether you are running single or triple setup🤔
@@TraumaTeamRacingthanks, but my comment was more a staff fact rather than needing help. Most sims with triple support set the FOV based on the geometry you input for the screen size, angles and distance. The fact that AMS2 allows you to set FOV that doesn’t match the screen geometry set in the menu is just odd.
idk why i followed this video and others. but my image seems narrow as if im in warp speed. not sure why its like this and i basically need the car to be wider on my screen if that makes sense. comparing the vehicle in your clip to mine, i have both mirrors appearing on the center monitor and not spread out to the others. what can it be that i need to tweak?
You shouldn't need to tweak anything if you have followed the guide correctly. Try cycling the cameras in case you are on the wrong one. Failing that, I would repeat the steps and make sure nothing was missed.

This still works as my set up hasn't changed. I would repeat the steps and make sure you haven't missed anything. Try adjusting your seating position and make sure you have the correct camera selected. Hope that helps.

There are a lot of different factors that can be interfering with the set up. Hard to say exactly without being there. If you have a 4th monitor that usually upsets AMS2. HDMI input I think can interfere depending on the monitor. My advice would just be to use surround. That is my go to and I have no issues at all. Hope this helps somewhat. Good luck 👍🏻

I installed it overnight on to my new PC so as far as i know it should have been a clean install anyway. It sounds like you haven't clicked triple screen spanning. Watch from 06:30 to see how to input the data. FOV input doesn't come into it. I think they are a really nice monitor, I'm very happy with them.
@@TraumaTeamRacing I think so yeah. My settings are ever so slightly different to yours as I'm sat a little further away but it looks great now. I have my cockpit field of view set at 61 in the camera settings. That seems like a nice sweet spot

After doing this on my triple curved 32" the fov was at 75 still for cockpit camera in camera settings. Should I change this to 60 to match the 180° I'm going for as you didn't mention that?
The camera is just the seating position. Just adjust it to how where you would like to sit in the car. It doesn't alter the 'calculated FOV'. I use where the steering wheel is in the car as a guide and adjust from there. Hope that helps 👍🏻
@@TraumaTeamRacing Cheers for the quick reply. It definitely changes the perspective a bit more than that though. Try a car like the McLaren F1 with it default 70, the wing mirrors are not fully visible from the correct seating position until you lower cockpit camera fov into the 50s. It looks much better when set correctly
@@TraumaTeamRacing Yes I'm definitely in cockpit cam although the same applies to helmet. Try it in the McLaren F1 when you have a chance, the perspective/wing mirrors are different from similar adjusted in car seating positions with cockpit cam fov set at 70 or 50 in camera settings

@@TraumaTeamRacing Another question.... why measure including the bezel (5:40). Aren't we just getting the ratio only of the display area (bet vertical and horizontal), since bezels don't affect resolution ?
@@TraumaTeamRacing If you could ever find what the launch parameter numbers meant for race room that would be awesome! I can't find any information on what they mean online at all! For ETS2 the FOV calculator is confusing me on this. I launch the game with surround and all is well but you can still change the FOV in the config file if you wanted to. All other games gives you the settings to input like screen angles, and distance from monitor and that outputs your FOV for you but in ETS2 you can still change your FOV. Does the FOV of 60 in the FOV calculator you talk about refer to the angle you will see on one monitor or the FOV you should place it in game?
As a side note also the RallySims Fans hungarian plugin for RBR (Richard Burns Rally) has grown popular from one youtuber showcasing it, but there is very little detail on triple screen setups. You could also look into that and make a video if you wanted to. Just requesting since you asked for that in your video here.
I've been meaning to have a look at race room so will put it on my to do list👍🏻 I think with ETS2 (I have never played it) if it does not have triple support that will be the fov for a single screen even if the image is stretched.

this tutorial doesnt work, i dont want to use nvidia surround, all my values in the triple screen tab are at zero and i cant select any resolution higher than 2560x1440p, i want to use DSR and nvidia surround does not support it ! There is no editable config file either ! HELP !
Maybe I am just over thinking this, but what should I do in the case of my screens having a 1000R curve. My setup is 3 x 32" 1000R 2560x1440 screens, but I am unsure where I am supposed to measure from. Some places say to ignore the curve and measure as if they are flat, but that does kind of confuse me a bit. Any advice would be greatly appreciated!
Ignore the curve, measure from corner to corner on the top for the width, pretend that is a flat panel and measure the angle from there. Only iRacing I believe allows accommodation for ROC.

I use AMD and I only get the centre screen in triple screen settings in game and even If I enter in the my documents triple screen settings, nothing seems to change in game. trying to find an AMD triple screen user that plays AMS 2 is like ….well you can't or they're all hiding and don't want to give away their secrets. I mean I could buy an Nvidia card for £1000 just to have my screen aligned in AMS 2 but I won't. If anyone out there can help PLEASE!!!!!! 🤣🤣
Sorry to hear this mate. Have you made sure that muti monitors are ticked and not just single monitor. This should engage the settings for the other screens?
@@TraumaTeamRacing yes I have but I've noticed in the triple screen documents, it says force triple screen and allow triple screen and they are both false so I changed them to true and that gave me the option in game triple screen to input left and right but they don't save as soon as you type and move to the next one it reverts back to 0.00.Also, the allow triple screen in documents always reverts back to false and I can't set my fov lower than 88 in game.
This sounds more of a hardware issue I am afraid to say😕 Have you tried a full re-install see if you can get AMS2 doing what it should be doing? Not to give up all hope, but the NVIDIA cards are all available and fairly reasonable about now? Could be an option if AMD really isn't playing well?
@@TraumaTeamRacing well it's an expensive option lol but I mean it runs but it's slightly out of alignment on the left screen. I may look at going back to Nvidia in the future but looks like I'm stuck with ams 2 how it is for now. Thanks anyway
Sorry Jim. Not sure I helped much there. I've heard the sim not playing nice with AMD before. The NVIDIA cards are on offer in the UK I think. Not much of a solution I know😕
