Thank you , this is so helpful . My question is , so any device that will be connected to this router , the IP address will show as 'United Kindom' ? Because that is what i chose . And i also turned on the 'apply to all devices'.
Very helpful video as always. I do have a question. Have you tried to connect any of your devices using Wireguard and did it work? Did you achieve much better download speeds? Thanks.
In the Merlin Firmware the YazFi program guest network enhancement may have something as to what you commented about. There is an option to “direct all to vpn” on the guest network. May be worth a look.
I have had expressVPN since 2016 and I have no complaints. The speeds don't decrease all that much as long as I use my closest server in a neighboring state and even across the pond I still have a plenty stable and fastest enough connection. I have also never received a C&D while using my Express VPN (I'm not perfect, ok).
is there a way to create a type kill switch for clients that need to use the VPN setup only? I don't want some clients to ever go through the WAN interface - only through VPN?
All connections have to go though the WAN connection, but if you specify which devices have to go via the VPN connection then these devices will only send/receive data via the encrypted VPN connection and see that IP address / Country if changed.
Installed a new Asus gaming router yesterday really happy with the speed and it’s working well however, I am trying to do exactly what you showed here with openvpn/nord however, my router settings page will no longer load in my browser and said cannot be reached. Do you know why this would be and how I can get into my settings page? Thanks
Make sure you’re not connected to any vpns or anything that can tamper with your internet settings that could be the reason you can’t access router settings
Thx for the Video. What happens if VPN Connection is lost ? Will the device take normal Internet Connection ? I cant find Asus VPN Fusion documentations :(
I did have issues with some of the Nord VPN servers connecting, sadly I just downloaded a few of the server's config files and tested them until I could find one that worked. Link to the config page: nordvpn.com/servers/
Looking at some of the deals out currently, the Asus RT-AXE7800 looks a good deal at £212 and is Wi-Fi 6E so is future proof and will last years. (amzn.to/3szm9wC) When looking anything with WiFi 6 is still great, it Wi-Fi 6E will make it last longer and you will not need to upgrade for for a few year or more. Even with WiFi 7 out devices will not really start to become mainstream till late next year the earliest and then it will be one high end devices. A 2.5gb Ethernet port is good to have as well. Hope this helps.
I'm trying to use my android phone to do this for my router and for whatever reason I can't see the openvpn config file when I try to export/download it, says downloading file but nothing ever shows up
It may be an ad blocker plugin or security app on you phone stopping the download. I just tried using Chrome browser on my Pixel and downloads , but does not show anything. But when I go to the downloads folder it’s saved. Or the only other thing would be to use a desktop pc.
I just have one question. How many simultanious OpenVPN connections can you do at the time. Is it limited to 2 ? Or is your server limited to more ? And what numver ? I have gt-ax6000 , and this is limited to 2 concurrent active VPN connections.
@@EclipseReviews Hello, sadly now, your gt-axe16000 can handle 4 fifferent concurrent vpn connections. And 128 clients shared between them My gt-ax6000 can handle 2 and 64 clients shared between them.
are there any vpn setups for ROG / Asus routers that are good for China? I am in china right now, and I am looking for a VPN for use at home, on my ROG router
