It's wonderful to see a young lady like you! I was/am the same way... but MUCH older! You are wise to see the importance of family. May God richly bless you and your family.
Your daughter is adorable! I'm glad you are at home raising your family and sewing and have found your joy! That is so wonderful ❤. Don't let anyone take that away! You are a great teacher!
Another alternative to sewing a cut is after stitching it closed you can sew an applique over the cut. You can put flowers, your name, etc pretty much anything you want there's an applique. Even iron on rhinestones. A hole sucks but isn't the end. I love how positive you are.
@@SewSewDrew it's no problem it's how I fix things. If you have favorite clothes with a rip or hole it works too. I just like some things too much to toss.
Beautiful apron!!! and your daughter is just a living doll!!! Don't forget to make both of you a vintage Mommy Daughter outfit!! Praying all is well. Keep up the great work!
Thank you for including the hole, I have done things like that before and it makes me feel so much better knowing someone as skilled as you can still do that xx
I’m glad you found me! I hope it helps it was in of my very first sewing projects. In my valentine video I sew a apron as well might be a little better!
I was searching for an apron tutorial because like you i was cooking and realized. Why dont i have an apron? 😆 glad i found your channel. You are delightful!
Just happened upon your video. Cute apron. Fortunately the print will hide the snip in the fabric. Glad to see others do things like that. Also your thought process in shaking it off is helpful to new and seasoned seamstresses alike.
I couldn’t believe that happened. But I’m starting to expect something “interesting” to happen with every project. I’m glad it could be helpful to others. That’s a silver lining.
I can’t wait for you to have it!! It’s exhausting but so rewarding. Our culture is now currently obsessed with “brand building” and career chasing it can seem foreign to some that being a mom and homemaker is enough for some. That we don’t aspire for “more” But I’m here to tell you it’s enough. It’s way more then enough. Good Luck to you! ❤️
I just found your channel and subscribed. I love 50's vintage clothing and am so happy that you've started to sew. Your daughter is so cute! I love it when she talks, just adorable.
Thank you so much for your kind words. It really means a lot to me. I love sewing. And the 50s fashion my only regret is that I didn’t start much sooner. I hope you stick around I have so much learning and sewing to do.
Firstly your daughter is adorable!!! Secondly I am so sorry you cut into the apron skirt when trimming the ruffle seam allowance but with sewing it is always a learning experience. As someone who has sewn for a long time I would look at it this way - thank goodness it was on something that you are going to wear around the house and that the fabric was $4.00 a yard I believe you said. You learned a valuable lesson on a cheap material and not on material that cost $30 or $40 a yard, this is a mistake you won't repeat!!!!
Thank you for the compliments for Ms.Major she is 2 and a handful but yes quite adorable 😊 and yes thank goodness I didn’t butcher a dress I had spent hours on or some expensive fabric. Your absolutely right I’m definitely careful now won’t make that mistake again. And thank you for watching and taking your time to leave feedback! Happy Holidays -Drew
Hi, you are so cute little one. Aprons have great styles over the years. Garage sales, second hand stores I find sheets, comforters, or people who stopped sewing, their fabric and supplies on the cheap. Tell everyone you sew, people have stashes they are willing to share. Keep inspiring.
As soon as this season passes and we are safe to be around others again indefinitely I will! Fabric is getting pretty costly and what great tips for sourcing it more inexpensively. I might start with my old sheets! Thanks
Listen to my tale, lol, I have made, as I am learning too, although I m much older then you from old curtains, a jacket, an apron and a Vogue evening gown. From sheets, although they are quite thin, pants, jacket, tops and a dress. Remnants too small, I sewed another fabric to make the piece big enough for me to cut the pattern out of. Be creative and don t be afraid. Keep inspiring.
Just found your channel! I love vintage patterns, also. Listening to your video is very pleasing to the ear and the topic is interesting. Keep up the good work.
Happy Sewing to you! I found this one a little confusing too. It was one of my first makes so at the time I thought it was just because I was inexperienced. But no this one is definitely a little tricky. Good luck 👍
Omg the hole lol i was making a bag and my husband called and i cut through the lining 😂 i almost cried but just kept trucking too. I feel your pain lol ouch
