This is such a cute back pack! I made one for a friend at work and it escalated on me and now I have made 7 for my friends children and grand children! Your instructions were so easy to follow and having all the measurements included made it a lot easier to pay attention to what you were doing instead of spending the time writing! Thank you for another great tutorial!
So agree with Dawn Switzers comment. I've looked for a sweet child size backpack, higher end project but quickly made. Thank you for measurements and a wonderful "no-fluff" tutorial... and speaking so clearly. 🙂
Hi Debbie, i have made this ruck sack for my great grandaughter she is 5yrs old, its my 1st one. I thank you for your video i could not have done it with out your help and clear instructions,, thank you again,,❤😊,,,vera,,Market Drayton,,
Thank you so much Debbie for your tutorial on the kids backpack. I've wanted to try one of these for years but didn't know how .so now I am going to try my best. My grandkids are getting all the benefits.thanks to your excellent explanatory tutorials.thanks again.😊❤
@Debbie Shore I've now made the backpack, turned out beautifully, however I would appreciate a little bit advice.....because of the fleece stabiliser and its canvasy fabric its very difficult to pull the ribbon drawstring, so I don't think my granddaughter would manage it. Any suggestions??? I thought of fastening elastic at either end of channel 🤔😕.thank you debbie I would appreciate your help.x❤
Thank you once again for another wonderful tutorial! This is adorable. Made 2 for my great nieces for Xmas. You do have the best tutorials. Much appreciated!
Thank you Debbie, I have started to make a backpack from old jeans? I've been stalling as I've not really found a design that I liked.... Until now that it's lol. Wow now I'm excited to get on with it! Thanks again, you are a lovely tutor to watch and listen to xx
Beautiful baby backpack. I did it as I go along The tutorial. I did it the whole day and really glad it's neat and beautiful as you did. I'm going to do it again soon coz I know what to do without watching the video as I stitch along with you. Thanks so much Debbie and I have also done others from your tutorial. May God bless you and have a great day ahead. Much love from Kuala Lumpur Malaysia
Thank you so much for your tutorial videos. I appreciate the in-depth teaching and that you list all the sizes of material needed. I have sewn several of your bags and I love them
Debbie, thank you so much for your instructive video. I am going to make one with baseball fabric for my neighbor for his birthday. You have taught me so much with your videos. Again, thank you. Please keep making videos
10/05/21: Goodness gracious, Debbie, this tutorial was absolutely fantastic. You give thorough instructions from beginning to end, so there's no way one can go wrong. I now have to make one for my granddaughter, and with her being a die-hard Harry Potter fan, she's gonna be over-the-moon excited when she sees it. Thank you again for sharing your wonderful talent. I loved it!
Thank you for this great tutorial, I have now got all the materials so I am looking forward to making this back pack for my niece as part of her Christmas gifts.
This is such a nice backpack and the tutorial was excellent as usual! Thanks for sharing Debbie, will definitely be making one of these soon! Stay safe and blessed! x
Glad you branched into the backpack/rucksack area. I know there are some great adult backpacks people make out of fun and artistic fabrics (though these are pretty rare still) Maybe you could explore that area. I’d love to see it and will follow along making one. I think those have a little more sophisticated top closures.
Just checking for the sides and base it gives measurements for 1 piece of plain fabric measuring 4.5” x 10”. Should there also be one patterned for the base of the lining? Ive cut all the pieces specified but not actually started seeing yet so it may become clear. Thank you.
Please can someone help!! 🙏 To get the inside pocket to the back of the bag, does it need to be at the front or back (when I pack the outer bag into the inside out liner)? Hope that makes sense. I don't want to sew around the top, incase I have it then wrong way round 😱 thanks in advance 🙏
Love this tutorial. I would like to make an adult version. Do you have measurements for this? I noticed you have an adult looking one at the end of the tutorial.
This may be a silly question, but when making the bag is it 12 inches wide and 11 inches tall or the other way around, I can't seem to decide!! 🤔 Lovely pattern and video 😊
Not a silly question at all Helen..I also need to know & I just found a comment further down and Debbie has replied.."It's always Width, Height and Depth".
This might be a stupid question, but in the sizes of the pieces in the description, which measurement is first, width or height? When I came to attach the gusset to the front and back it didn’t fit properly and I’m wondering if Ive mixed these up. I’ve watched the video several times and I don’t think you say anywhere. I’ve got three more to make so any answers would be great! Thanks
Hello Debbie. I think the backpacks are adorable. But I am wondering what kind of outer fabric to use. Not sure if it's 100% cotton or not. Thank you very much if you could let me know or have any suggestions. Ellen B
Hi Debbie. Sorry, one last question. As I look more closely, is the webbing cotton? Just wanted to make sure. I am about to make this for my niece. I want to make sure I buy the proper supplies. Yesterday I made your sewing machine mat. It looks so cute. I've never done anything like the reverse applique. Really like it so thank you.
Hi, I just saw your message and noticed your question about the materials: 44' x 16" patterned fabrics, 44" x 18" plain fabric 35" x 12" fusible fleece 16" elastic cut in half 59" of 1" wide webbing, 2x1" rectangle rings, 2x1" rectangle sliders, magnetic snaps, 39" ribbon. I hope this helps.
Hi Debbie- This is Ellen Britton. Are the dimensions of the sides supposed to be 4.5" x 12"? I cut them as 4.5 x 11 as the directions say but it doesn't seem right when I watch part of your video. I have yet to finish my entire project yet because if I need to make an adjustment I'd like to do it now. Thanks again. Cute backpack for sure!
The sides are slightly shorter than the front and back as the bottom corners of the front and back are curved, I do explain in the video at 22:33 that the sides may need trimming depending if your curved corners aren't the same measurement as mine...
@@debbieshore Hello Debbie. Thanks for the response. I finished my backpack for my niece. It looks so cute! I'll call myself new to sewing so this was a different challenge for me. My husband gave me an "A" on this project so that says a lot!!😀 And it certainly isn't anything I am doing...it's due to the great ideas and videos I watch. So thank you very much. --Ellen B.
Hi Debbie, I’ve made eight bags so far for Ukranian refugees, but am struggling to get exactly the rectangular rings. I’ve been using D rings but they’re not as good. Do you have a link or supplier you could let me have please. Many thanks, Jo
@@debbieshore thank you! I’m excited to give this bag a try. Thank you for providing detailed videos to help us be successful in making our own versions!
Me alegré un poco con los subtítulos en inglés: pensé entendería un poco más pero con es rapidez con que lo quitan; Quién lee,así?Es una verdadera lástima!!
