Are you tired of your waistband rolling and wrinkling under your stomach? Well, let me show you how to sew a waistband that will never roll or wrinkle.
Now, if you don't have a muffin top, this may not apply to you. I realize that all plus size women are not going to have this problem.
But if you do, then I believe this waistband will solve your problem, just as it did for me.

perfect. I love the stitch in the ditch part of your instructions, lt eliminates the understitching...all of my waistbands will be done like this from now on ☺. plus I love the narrow waistbands they look so dior (big time fashion)...perfect !

Thank you. I've added this video to my bookmarks for future reference. Appreciate the look of this for several reasons. Especially, "tailored" aspect, along with it being between a traditional waist band and and skirt or pants without one (simply faced). BTW, you've emphasized a "tip" that I use. When making a muslin, use those odds and ends spools of thread and bobbins. Colors don't have to match. Threads can be old. As long as it will hold together long enough to fit the muslin, that's all that's needed. Any reasonably sized thread (top/bottom) will work, too.

Thank you! So first I followed your video and attached my lining to the zipper, now I finished doing the waistband. I only need to hem my skirt now! And for the first time ever, the result is decent-looking (I never know how to do stuff, so often it's trial and error with me).

can I ask for advice? I'm doing a 1 inch waist band with stretch fabric, and I cut it on the bias. I didn't cut the seams allowance, and the fabric started twisting while I was sewing it. any advice?

Lorena Cabrera Because it's a stretch fabric, I'm wondering if cutting it on the bias has something to do with the problem you're having. Maybe it's stretching too much or too little.

Hello! Thanks so much for this video. One question, can I hide the serged edge of the waistband on the inside by turning it under then stitching in the ditch? I am making a pair of pants without a lining and need the waistband to be completely enclosed. Thank you!

That's what I'm looking for, that pro look. I spent over 4 hours working on flounces for a blouse with this extremely ravelly fabric. Marking, pressing, pinning, stitching, straightening out wobbles...with a serger I would have avoided most of that. I got so excited with the Amazon price that I ordered two by mistake! LOL Thank God or reasonable return policies!
