Ben shows you how to sharpen a pen knife with no tools or equipment. This way you can get a razor edge when you're outdoors, camping or in the wilds and you need it most. The Store: benandloisorfor... Clothing: bit.ly/2R9VcZS
Always been taught this. I’ve an awesome kitchen knife (200-300 years old) had been sharpened for years by my great great great Grandma on the sand stone door step👌🏻 Slate is awesome for fineish work.
Great video Ben. Thanks very much. I did my nephew's victorinox in the same way at the weekend. I've also used discarded bricks in the past; they work a treat.
The spyderco urban and ukpk are great knives. One thing to mention is these spydercos usually come in a variety of steel options, some of which cannot be practically sharpened on natural stones due to the extreme vanadium content or hardness. LC200N, BD1, BD1N, AEB-L are the steel choices you want for natural stones
In The Smoky Mountains around the streams I would find what is called a blue stone, it was spot on for honning an edge. If you have the patience & the eye Mother Nature provides. .....ATB
excellent.. I don't see the point of videos showing you how to sharpen a knife extremely precisely under sterile conditions with a perfectly flat stone.
Hi there good info most useful, what model is the knife, looks like a nice small handy size, legal as long as you have a good reason to carry one, like a canoe rescue knife (PPE) I look forward to your next adventure
I though knife with bladelock was illegal in uk? You can sharpen your knife with any type of rock or concrete. And polish with wood, paper, leather or other smooth surface.
@@Al2020 thanks for the answer. I hope they allow you locked knives in the future. It is a little better then slipjoints in some situations. I use both, but prefer my locked knives.
