I do not agree with the use of this method, the tooth may break or the blades crumble.

You always disagree with me, but you never share a video on how you do it! We all want to know. I have never broken a blade or had one crumble and I don't know anyone else that have had that issue, but since they are ceramic, anything is possible.

I'm a new bee and some say sharpen on convex rubber block and some say flat. do you sharpen both bottom and top pieces of clipper blade and are both done on flat or convex? Thank You Great video.

On clipper blades, the normal clipper blades should be convex and sharpened on a cone shape plate. The adjustable blades comb would be best sharpened on a flat plate but it works fine if you sharpen on the outside edge of a cone shaped plate. Does that answer your question.

A ceramic cutter is flat from the factory, not like a steel one, that is, the result is half the edge. It is as if a branch of a scissors were completely straight. It is a very bad industrial invention. It does not make sense, neither economically nor Functional for the cost.

it would be great to be able to sharpen these, I will give it a try! One question though, what about the fact that the blade is sharpened on a flat stone, it will not have a hollow grind any more. Thanks!

Good question. Let me research that. More often than not a blade is chipped so they have to be replaced rather than sharpened. Also, I sharpen them every other time since ceramic does not wear like steel.

Did you sharpen the metal blade? How did you sharpen the other blade? Was the tension right? Was the set back right? When was your clipper last serviced? The ceramic cutter is only a minor part of the clipper blade working.

Fine (F) Red - 25 micron - 600 mesh Ideal for putting a razor sharp edge on a blade that is regularly maintained. Extra Fine (E) Green - 9 micron - 1200 mesh Polishes and refines the edges of fine knives and precision tools after they have been sharpened on coarser grits. @@JohnNeilBrizuela no. If there was one I would be selling it instead. Remember this device is only for ceramic blades. The steel blades must be sharpened on a hollow grind machine which is over $1000. These pieces of equipment are at www.bonika.com. If you can’t afford the right equipment use professional sharpening services.

hello im EloyTheBarber I want to learn how to sharpen my own blades and maybe Later on my shears . I have 4 water stones I had for yrs I had used it at first it worked then it didn't so I put the stones away in storage I have not used them for about 3yrs. I also used a grinder after awhile blades not cutting the same. so after 2 yrs I decided To go at it again . I usually have my blades sharpen every 6 months all of them . over 30 blades lol. so what can you tell to use to sharpen my own blades ? and what machine or stone will be the best for the $ that I can so I can sharpen my blades every 2-3 months to keep them sharp ? ( I just found you and taking my time learning to watch you and others on sharpening so far I find the best way is the the big red machine that come over $1200 for you have it you announced it on your video. very high for me . but I can see myself later in time investing in one to do my own and other barbershops and animal groomers too obviously for $ to pay off the machine lol. hope you can help thank you.....

I would suggest you watch this video ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-tDMcXZXx0Ws.html and you will understand why sharpening on stones will only work a few times. You have to buy a full fledged machine designed for the hollow ground on the blades. The ShopPay on our website and PayPal Credit are two ways to make payments for the equipment.

This diamond hone is only for ceramic blades. You must use a professional clipper hone with grit for other blades.

Yes, I haven’t posted it yet. I think the edge pro may have one. Basically you are better off just replacing the cutter or at least have back-up cutters in case you have to replace it. The edge pro also sells these. Tell them I sent you.

No. No and no. This method will eventually remove the hollow. Use a professional clipper blade sharpening machine designed to create the slight hollow in the blade.

Interesting. I remember seeing a video a year or two ago of a guy trying to sharpen a ceramic knife and saying it was too brittle and it wasn't really possible. Maybe his technique was just off.
