Very helpful thank you. I was setting the setting for grinding the heel to the same as the angle setting. Hopefully now I will get a better grind this time
I like the video. What is the make and model of your sharpener? How do you like the TTS-100? I was told that it doesn't always work on machines that aren't a tormek.
My machine is a NTS-250, it's sold under many brands across the world. I'm happy with it's performance, it does what it suppose to do, and doesn't cost a fortune. To my knowledge, any system the features a bar in front, will facilitate any tormek jigs. And I have seen many system due to my work, and there have never been a issue.
@@b.w.woodturning I have a clone not unlike yours and the set up tools with it are atrocious. I've been looking at the TTS-100 as I feel that will accomplish the same task on any similar task. My question is whether I could use it in conjunction with the jigs available from these emulators or would I have to further invest in the SVD186 and / or the SVS50 too?
I'm not sure that the TTS would work with other jigs, then the tormek ones. I'm my opinion the tormek jigs are a bit expensive, but are well worth it. The set I have, I've been using for over 2 years now and still work flawlessly, and would be a good investment for any woodturner that uses a whetstone grinder.
@@b.w.woodturning Okay thanks. I got this set (www.recordpower.co.uk/product/woodturners-sharpening-package-wg250a-wg250b-wg250i--wg250n#.XuH4ced7mrU) which cost less than the SVD186 on its own but neither as straightforward to set up as the Tormek appears to be. Wish I'd found your video sooner. Oh well, try again and if not Tormek here I come!
