Hey, if you still need one, AIM makes a nice one and it doesn't require all of those screws. AIM TACTICAL SHOTGUN SIDE SADDLE FOR MOSSBERG 500 & 590 12 GA 6 SHELL CARRIER. If you Google it you'll find them 10-14.00 Good luck
The tacstar 6 shell holder fits the Mossberg 500 unless you have the forend that overlaps the receiver when it is slid back to eject the spent shell. BUT......... I have that very gun and all I did was cut down the forend with a dremel after I marked it all the way around so it was flush with the receiver when slid back. Tacstar side saddle fits perfectly fine now.
When the forearm is pumped back it cover the forward part of the receiver by about an inch. This causes interference between the shell holder and the forearm. I have two Mossberg 500s and have the same problem with both. Carving the forearm back will be ugly. Where do I get an inexpensive shorter forearm?
what if you had velcro on the back of the shell holder and on the gun, that way, you could have spares ready to go with velcro, just tear off the empty rack and throw a new one on the gun, would that work? im new to this. thanks , great video
I have a Moss 500 and there is no screw on the side, there's a push pin that releases the trigger housing. Also the Moss 500's made in the last 20 years can't fit a side rail like that as the forward stock overlaps the receiver when racking the slide.
I sold this shotgun a long time ago. But yeah now that you say that, it would make a lot more sense to have them the other way around. Quicker to feed.
I disagree. I keep the first two opposite from the rest so I have the option to load one quick in the chamber, and the rest can be reloaded in the tube
Andrew Severa, exactly...it's been widely called an allen wrench for numerous decades now but like with everything else anymore, got those people who just can't handle calling something by what it's been traditionally called and/or they just gotta rename something to feel they're not stuck in a particular era.
Try using common sense to let people be aware of what's the name brand and model number of the part your showing how to install...it doesn't do us much good if we don't know which one you have since there are many different manufactures and types of these sidesaddle shell carriers for the Mossberg 500.
Happy I'm not the only one who got a bit pissed when the kid didn't recognize his ejector... If you're going to own, shoot, and especially modify guns, know the parts and mechanisms, and their functions.
Obviously that knowledge isn't necessary for this mod, can't really understand why anyone would get upset over something so silly. You wanna learn the parts that's your prerogative. Just because you use the computer should someone get upset if you don't know what a part is on it?
When you see me making videos about computer mods without knowing the names of the components, then we'll discuss that. But luckily I do know major components of my computer so I can properly address them when a problem arises with the device. Sure, knowing that that's the ejector may not be essential to this mod, but knowing that it is the ejector, and addressing it as such increases credibility Think of it this way, if you drive a car, you should know what your engine and transmission are, you should know where the fluids go, and you should understand on some level how it all works together so that you're not SOL when something goes wrong, and don't get screwed over by a mechanic because they can tell you don't have any idea what you're talking about.
Dude, agreed, and I should also note that probably 95% of people don't know about their cars, or their computers. That wasn't my point, my question is why get pissed about it? Does it really affect you?
