This was a very informative video, loved it. Especially the shipping printer. I usually just print from my regular computer printer but ill definitely look into a label printer to save some time.
Sad part is this vid didn't help me cause I live in South Africa but love the octopus in the bg tho. He be like "My momma make products that make me bootiful"😍😍😍
Thanks! This video has been the most helpful one I've found so far for Etsy shipping. I started my Etsy shop in September and the shipping has been sooo expensive. I didn't know that priority mail and flat rate boxes were cheaper for bigger packages. No wonder it costed so much. So far I've lost more money than I've gained. Glad I found this video or i probably would've lost a lot of money.
Thank you..you are so helpful..i am such a newbie only have 2 things lol but goin by one of ur videos..to start with only a few items..you have been a huge life saver to this ole' grandma i knew there was alot to doin your own business but man oh man lol Again tons and tons of thank you it surely isnt enuff keep up the good work tara lee we appreciate you
I just joined your patreon and I can’t wait to see videos I haven’t seen from you. Are you gonna make a lip recipe someday or give information on how we can make lip oil more thick than liquid-y?
Thanks so much for joining. I have over 40 Patreon exclusive videos over there. Hope you enjoy them. I also have two lip product recipes over there as Patreon exclusive videos too. If you can’t find them, just send me a message on Patreon and I’ll send you the link ☺️
Hi! I found this video watching your old one specifically about Etsy shipping 2 years ago. I recently started selling my homemade candles on Etsy; your video helped me a lot but the problem is I created and paid for a shipping label through Etsy but I was confused on the listing dimensions and if that includes the USPS Priority box or not? I put my candles in a little brown box with shredded paper, tissue paper, ribbon, etc. So that box is 6x6x4 and needs to go in a USPS priority box because whether it is 1 candle or multiple, the package will always be over 1 lb. I just want to make sure with the shipping label I have (which only accounts for the candle and the stuff inside the brown box, that I can put that brown box in any USPS box it will fit? I hope this makes sense.
Hey love your videos they are so helpful and your not afraid to show what you use like some people on this youtube lol but was wondering where i can find out about wholesale thanks 🙏❤
Good morning! I know this video doesn’t pertain to this however I have a formulating question? Im formulating a leave in Conditioner and I’m stuck trying to incorporate “hibiscus powder” into it. I’ve researched the usage but couldn’t quite find any. Any recommendations? Maybe a video on using plant powders possibly?🙏🏾😩
Ho, thank you for your video. I know it's about 3yrs old and that's probably why I can't find that printer you liked so much in it. Do you know if Is it not on the market any more?
Hi Tara, I do have a question. On the shipping you said some shipping depends on the weight. Say a person orders 3-4 items. You don't know the weight until you pack the items. How do you know what to tell the customer on the Etsy site there shipping will be?
@@TaraLeee wait til you're over 50 like myself when you start forgetting what certain things are called or walking into rooms in your house to get things once you re in that room you completely forgot what you went in there to get lol 🤣 I use to laugh at my parents when that would happen to them....I don't laugh anymore!
Hey @taralee I am struggling to decide on what size boxes to order for my kits. It will house 3 4oz jars , lip balms and a lip scrub jar. Along with tissue paper and crinkle papers , please advise
Hi there, great Tips and Tricks. Thank you. Question, when you are finished Packing, Labeling, and Weighing everything up do you take it to your Local Post Office or just put them in your personal Mailbox if they fit?
I don't know if you didn't mention it or it's super obvious and I just didn't know Lol but how do you deliver them? I know you don't drive house-to-house but like how do you send it to them?
when taking the dimensions of the "item size when packed", do you take the measurements of the box/mailer or of the item? like I mean on the part where it asks for the length, width, and height?
HOPEFULLY you see tis soon, I am about to purchase boxes from line to priority mail lol a small box is flat rate close to $9, I think priority with weighing the line box will be a little cheaper. do you recommend priority mailing your own box if its weighing in under 4 lbs?
So I have a question… I’m just starting and I’m inputting my 1st listing. I sell cold process soap. I inputted the weight of 1 bar and the package contents. Then I inputted the dimensions of the small flat rate box ($8 to ship from usps flat rate). But The shipping rate on Etsy says $3.57. Will I be stuck paying the remainder of the $8 flat rate when I drop off at usps??
Is Etsy cheaper to use for shipping than Pirate Ship? My shop is less than a year old & still pretty small but I've used Pirate Ship since the beginning and was just wondering your thoughts on this. Thanks so much! :) Jeanne @HarvestHerbals
Is it possible to not buy shipping labels and just sent my product through post office as a normal letter? I don't really get why I should use shipping labels. I would really appreciate it if you helped me with that issue.
When I helped my brother with his business doing shipping for health related products like vitamins etc ....we used the padded bubble mailers...you could still put it in a box then put the box inside the mailer and I think that USPS does have the small padded mailers..you can always call or go on their website to see their different size bubbled mailers! Hope that helps!
@@kendrabonds5688 Thank you! most of my products are glass, and my main concern atm, is making sure it doesn't break but still making sure the packaging looks decent especially when its just one small bottle.
I couldn’t set up shipping profile with flat rate padded envelope, Doesn’t show this option, you get the option when you offer free shipping? Thanks in advance
As a Mail Carrier here in Miami you’re giving some misinformation here. A person doesn’t have to ship Priority for anything weighing over 16 Oz’s. One can ship however they choose even book rate and say it’s books inside or any type of media mail. The maximum weight for First Class letters and light weight parcels is 13 Oz’s. Check our site. Anything over there’s a charge per ounce. Customers have a choice as to how they want to mail their packages, the Clerk will never say, “oh YOU MUST ship Priority because your parcel weighs 3 pounds!” The difference between Priority and Regular First Class mail IS, one can track their packages with Priority shipping. For those who doesn’t care about tracking they can ship however. We will ask are there any liquids, plastics or explosives.
Then how come I cant ship anything over 16 ounces first class? When I buy a shipping label it says it has to be shipped priority if it weighs over 16 ounces. Also my first class packages always have a tracking code. Not just priority packages
Okay I just checked with USPS.com and stamps.com What I said is correct. Only packages that weight up to 15.99 ounces can be shipped first class. so I am going to have to disagree with you.
@@TaraLeee my Mum just received a package from her sister non priority first class with a tracking number weighing about 2-3 pounds. I’m not talking just to be talking, I’m talking on what I know(mail lady) and have witnessed personally. Doing it from home and actually going into the post office will give different results, I don’t know why?! I do know why, they get more money from business shoppers like you than those who actually go in with no business attachments. Double Standard 🌹
So I’m a clerk tracking comes with all packages automatically...once the weight is above 16oz you have the option btw express, priority or ground shipping....if the package is being shipped to a local zip code it may only give the option btw express or priority....express includes $100 insurance and priority includes $50 insurance (not $100) you can add however much insurance you would like for an additional cost....thanks for the info love your channel
