I’ve been using the front pin my 2nd go to shot behind my pull. I still want my euro to be my main shot as my game improves. There isn’t any Americans that use it as a main shot. I can hit dead bar on both sides easier while practicing as opposed to a snake. I can walk the ball easier too. I really don’t like the rollover but respect it. Thanks for taking the time it’s like the 2nd or 3rd time I watched this video and picked up on your tip for hitting the ball at an angle. I have always found it way easier to cut the ball back at will and more difficult with the snake shot. Thanks Chase!

Yes! I’ve been waiting for this to learn. I started practicing this myself. Since your a pro, you can be the judge. One day I’ll send you a video on me doing it and you can give me some feedback. Also it’s me Kaleb again and me and my dad. We couldn’t find any locations to play football Tornado in New Jersey. My dad is from Woodbridge New Jersey and I’m from Plainfield,NJ. So yeah and I’m beating my dad and I want to play against someone else and see their skills.

My brother used to snap the ball back against the back wall with his defense which would pop the ball up into the air, catch it with his goalie, wiggle it to the middle and flip the ball over the table into the opponents goal. Won a big tournament with this move and i think it was then outlawed. This was back in the 80's-90's. Brown top.

Question - Is there a particular ball you use or particular table / player design that helps you control the ball like that I’ve noticed many are very slippery and you can’t grab it well. How do you resolve this? Also, I’m in the market for a good table can you make recommendations?

Noticed some pros keeping their left hand on 2 end bars for defense against 2 man shooters. thoughts about defense against ryan moores 2 man shot? I am impressed with Loredo's game. Might talk about the speed of the game setup vs not setup. 5 man shot vs not. Why not shoot all 5 man shots if you have it? The advantage is they don't have full control of the defense with one hand on the 5 man.

I think this is a must know shot for everyone, even if they don't use it as their main shot, it helps your game in a lot of ways and can be good for some sneaky goals while setting up a snake
@ChasePennell
@ChasePennell 4 года назад
I would not say must know. But it is good to know for ball control. The practice of moving the ball around in a pinned position is more important than actually shooting the shot.
@littlelegend5133
@littlelegend5133 4 года назад
Yes, shooting a pin while setting up a snake can be an Easy Point. Some goalies are always doing the same in the first second, and you can catch them off guard.

Can I do this on Italian Fas foosball
@golfrrrr

This shot is a little like the push shot in that it isn't as natural as pinning it behind the bar. I call that a crank shot and it works best with the pull long or long angle up. But like any pin shot straight ahead of the pin is hard because you have to roll off the pin to hit the ball. Try a pin behind the bar pull shot where you pull it right into a push shot. Seems like a shot where you change directions in the shot gives you timing advantage that's hard to beat unless they are expecting it. Like shuffling the ball around looking for a hole created by opponent getting lazy. Like the 5 man shuffle between 2 guys (speedman's 5 man).

If you want to get fast at this you cant do it without applying alot pressure on the ball during the sideway movement to get the required acceleration. The potential of your pinshot system is mostly determined by how fast and how accurately you can execute the sideways movement. In the video its done very slow for learning purpose i think. Also if you struggle to execute /at speed doing it to one specific side you should simply practise that side exclusively until it at least matches with your strong side. The push side has the advantage that the counter movement is pretty intuitive wich matters more the faster you execute it. Try "feeling" the ball all the way during sideway movement and keep the figures overall motion at a minimum. The smaller your motion the faster you can become. Also make sure your tables 3 rod is oiled up properly and the grip also matters alot esp at high speed(gloves aber better then tape because tape will increase the diameter of the grip resulting in a longer gear transmission ratio and thus forcing you to move your hand more)

Hi, thanks for the great Content. In my opinion the middle is by far the strongest option of the Front pin if someone trys to Block with the goalie you can just Brush the Ball behind the 2 bar. Or you can Step 1/4 of the goal, Stop, and then Brush it back. And when you are not setting up in the middle, but on 3/4 right or left (or even completely long) You can even pin the Ball a Bit on either side so you can shoot diagonal or straight, just by flipping the guy. Are there any top players in the us, that shoot a Front pin in Tornado Tournaments?
@ChasePennell
@ChasePennell 4 года назад
Nope. The reason is because you have to do something to make the ball go middle that looks different than your normal shot to go middle. It may have more ways to hit the middle but it isnt as good of an option.
@minwu2073
@minwu2073 4 года назад
It's harder on Tornado because the player is wider, compare to other tables.
@ChasePennell
@ChasePennell 4 года назад
Min Wu that adds to it for sure.

@@ChasePennell I unterstand what you mean, but why do you think a snake shot middle is stronger than a pin to the middle?
@ChasePennell
@ChasePennell 4 года назад
LittleLegend You can do a middle with a snake faster than the flip over with a pin. If you don’t shoot the middle with a flip you have to do it while moving the ball, so you would have to tap the ball and move it, this becomes a tell. So if you are just rocking the ball I don’t have to block middle if you move at all I can then block middle... so yea clear benefit.

Hi, I struggle a lot to execute pin shots on the push side. I'm just like a newborn baby when doing that :D About what else can you show - I was thinking maybe about some defense positioning in 2v2 matches.
@littlelegend5133
@littlelegend5133 4 года назад
Practice it without a Ball. Sounds and looks stupid but really helps. This gets your attention on the right technique, because you dont focus the Ball. Then do it again with a Ball and pretend it still isnt there.
@KevinBarw
@KevinBarw 4 года назад
I started praticing the front pin a few weeks ago, because i dont like the rollover (its to easy) and most "normal" tournaments here in germany does no allow the rollover. I was stuggling with the push side as well. There were two things, that helps me a lot. First, use the technic chase uses. So put the ball were you want to hit it. Place your guy in a position where the ball would normally be and hit it. Second, forget about the hight of your backswing. in the beginning, just shoot it like a normal open handed shoot. You will have a much higher backswing when you roll your palm further over the rod, but you will hit balls more easily when they are not rolling perfect. Start doing it with the ball rolling slowly towards the pushside. After you hit like 50-100 balls like that, you will get better and you can start increase the ball speed and decrease the amount of backswing.

I don't understand the "walk the ball back and forth and thinking of it as a U" could u clarify?
@ChasePennell
@ChasePennell 2 года назад
The motion you make with the foot of the guy makes a U shape. :-) Walking the ball means to move it back and forth in front of the goal while it is pinned. Hope that helps.

Two options. You can get the Tornado table which is the Tournament table in the USA. Or the majority of these tips work on other tables.

Fantastfic video as always! My thoughts: 1 - the key to the grip is putting the forefinger around the handle on the rod....that provides the power. 2 - You can also just work on coming around the ball to hit middle instead of teasing off. 3 - Reference some of Fredrico's videos to show the true power of this shot, and why it's so great. Great video! This could be one of the best shot choices ever if people stuck with the super steep (maybe the steepest) learning curve. X
@ChasePennell
@ChasePennell 4 года назад
The finger part isn’t that big of a deal, if you come off the ball it is a massive tell, and I cannot use Fred’s clips because they are owned my someone else....
@FooserX
@FooserX 4 года назад
@@ChasePennell Everyone has their own style. :-) Bruce Nardoci taught me the finger needs to be curled over/around the handle on the steel of the rod, because that provides the power and control, especially when squaring up the push side. I'd say he probably has the 2nd best pin on Tornado that I've seen, and shoots it the purest way like Rico. (because they all play on Bonzini in NC) Once I focused on getting use to that grip, it really helped that shot be explosive from a sit still.

fredrico won 12 world titles doubles shooting this shot and many singles titles , so you defenetly can win with it , but you have to have the complete arsinal , and a great five bar to get the ball , and some defense wouldnt hurt either .. lol
