Looking forward to this series. As a former Marine we preach “brilliance in the basics”, meaning if you have solid fundamentals, you’ll be better than 99% of the people out there. The KISS principal applies to tactics as well as planning. I don’t need to be John Wick. I need to be competent, confident, and consistent. Thank you for these great videos!

An episode on one-handed and weak hand only shooting would be a nice addition to the series.

Anyone have flashbacks of Wax On, Wax Off from the karate kid movie? I wish I learned this years ago. With the series I can get rid of ingrained bad habits and develop lasting fundamentals. Looking forward to the complete series. You are the best!

It works on most semiautomatic pistols, not all. The smaller pistols needs a modified hand grip. Only practice with the hand gun you use can dictate the grip you use.

Always good stuff from Myles and Co @ TH. PatMac does something I like that he calls “Sight, Sight, Squeeze, Squeeze” (repeated until he breaks the shot). The idea being regardless of stance, etc. align the sights on target and ensure you maintain proper sight alignment as you squeeze the trigger to ensure you don’t loose your slight alignment while firing the shot. Sounds simple, but seems to be a point where a lot of (especially new) shooters fail to make POA = POI. It’s just a simple, practical tool I found worked well for me.

Personally, I've discovered I can practice I can practice trigger finger isolation from the 3 amigos by mimicking holding to a pistol without having one in my hand. Got right hand pretty well as I am right handed. Now for the left....just in case. I also play around with piano and bass guitar both of which require controlled isolation movement. Try it. Nothing o lose, eh? Practice trigger control in public without getting arrested. LOL.

Being new to this, I realize I'm overlooking a crucial aspect of these drills. The discussion revolves around accuracy without actually defining it. The camera doesn't show the target, and although I can hear the "ding," it's unclear what qualifies as accuracy. The focus is on keeping the gun steady, yet even with movement, the shots hit the target. What exactly am I not understanding?
@kiadegethers6108
@kiadegethers6108 2 месяца назад
He saying for accuracy It's not about keeping the gun steady, but the sights and your sight picture. Aligning your sights to your target, then pulling the trigger while keeping your sights aligned and steady, making sure they don't move so that you are seeing your shot go to the exact place your sight picture is at.

In order to be ready for a second shot. That will come later but you are building the foundation.
