Man! I've had Lightroom on my phone for a minute and had no clue about this, but have been mad about now being able to shoot "Pro" or raw on my iPhone. Subscribed!
@@ryansnaadt I avoided buying a formal camera for years, because I was satisfied with what my Galaxy offered. Then my wife talked me into buying an iPhone Xs and my frustration with not having a Pro mode led me to break down and buy a Canon. I'm glad I bought the Canon, as photography as a whole has completely changed for me. But if I'd known about this before, I may not have jumped to the Canon.
Straw Hat ehh not forever. And waiting for this to be “over” to start trying things with photo and video will not keep the momentum going. Take this time to learn and experiment with apps , gear, and courses to learn more
It's actually embarrassing that I've been shooting with my iphone AND using Lightroom to edit for ages, yet I never knew you could literally solve my issue of not having raw on the app itself LOL! Thanks for the video!
i'm using obscura2 for shooting raw files on my iPhone 8 Plus, for editing i prefer photoshop express, sometimes snapseed. Perhaps i'm gonna give lr cc a hit.
@@ryansnaadt To be honest, I paid for procam4(5) and for the moment app. But I hate switching between the apps and thinking of, which of these will do the job properly.
When I try to shoot DNG in Pro mode, the image looks properly exposed when taking the photo, but when it loads into the gallery it is way overblown and weird. any thoughts on how to combat this?
I have the same issue when viewing on mobile. When editing the same image from the cloud on desk top it seems just fine and there is enough dynamic range to just lower exposure or highlights and things look much better
@@ryansnaadt I have this same issue. Having to adjust exposure or highlights for potentially hundreds of photos just to get the photo exposed properly seems like a deal-breaker. Do you have any update on this? My Lr Mobile app still shoots DNG's that appear way overexposed. And I'm not seeing much difference in ability to recover shadows when compared to a simple Jpeg, so I wonder why I should bother with raw. Interested in your take on what seems to be an ongoing issue.
Just stumbled on your channel while looking to see if there are ways to shoot RAW on my iPhone 11 Pro. I am into Photoshop, so I know the benefits gained when photos are shot in RAW. To clarify, I like working w Photoshop but I’m not a serious photographer by any means, though it is growing on me. I am going on vacation in two weeks and I had been contemplating buying a Canon G9 Mark II ($440) bc it’s a super tiny point and shoot camera, and, more importantly, it shoots RAW, which isn’t the easy feature to find on a small point and shoot. Obviously, the Canon will deliver a better RAW photo, especially @ 21 megapixels; however, I’m going to try out the Lightroom app u suggested over the next couple days and see what caliber photos I can create. I hope that the output in RAW is good bc I rather spend the camera money on my trip. I’m going to subscribe to your channel for a couple of reasons. You have a really upbeat personality that is engaging, and you’re clearly excited and knowledgeable about what u r talking about which shines through and makes it more interesting to listen to u. Also, if I’m being honest, your also really nice to look at w those beautiful blue eyes and great smile! Keep up the good videos and u will grow your base.
Hey Ryan Thanks man Im a a little older and never looked at the app or CC I have been using classic for years. I find when I do lots of my travel photography I take a ton of shots with my iphone and put it down and duplicate the shots with my Z6 . Very cool to know I can shoot raw on my iphone. Question ? Can I bring those raw photos on the iphone Lightroom CC app into Classic on my Imac ? Thanks Dave
Glad to help! And you can download the files from the desktop app to your computer and store on a hard drive/ edit from there I believe. Once I have my presets loaded into the app it makes things easy for me to edit on either.
Just realize that lighroom app can shoot photos from tiktok and in the same time realize that the photo taken by the apps is in Raw My mind and eyes just like 🤯
I have heard from several places to try and use the LR app to shoot iphone photos.... no matter what settings I have it on, the LR camera is always worse image quality. ive tried DNG...manual...automatic...just playing with several settings and --> lot more grain and noise when you zoom in. Am I doing something wrong? I've tried editing many different ways in various other apps and no matter what I do, there is always this extra noise in the photos from that camera app. i've chalked it up to a lack of software optimization but Im really curious as to if there is a solution to this issue i have been seeing.
@@ryansnaadt iPhone 11. I believe I tried with the Xr I had previously (like a year ago) as well with similar results albeit I REALLY had no idea what I was doing then.
Me watching... His dictions are different. Say thank you = deynk you, deynk you, deynk you, deynk you, deynk you. And also the "g" in every gerund words he says disappear. of course I came here for the iPhone SE, idk... too much iPhone SE I watched, like 20 vids this day and even though I own nothing, I just watch because I am planing to buy one. Carrier locked in our country, but of course that longevity is what I am rootin' for. Anyway nice video. you have IG? If so, I'll follow you.
@@ryansnaadt OOOhhh I see the FB group. I know your a photographer in passion, hope to join u someday. the skills and tech.. Actually just here to review about iPhone SE, it seems like you are knwledgeable in Camera settings etc, wether it's in mirrorles (phones or High ends), or DSLR. just keep sharing your skills through YT. Well appreciated.
Im using a 6s and the raw photos from Lightroom dont have that much more dynamic range than jpegs and of i shoot in HDR it takes about 10 seconds to show me the photo and it is slow.
@@ryansnaadt I have updated it recently but it's the same. I am happy with my phone and dont wanna upgrade just for that but I wonder why they dont have jpg hdr in Lightroom as well
