How could anyone get bored with a series of your happy smiling face,,, I mean Lofoten 🙂 Good to hear you explain your thoughts and see how well the place still looks without snow, looking forward to part 3
....or perhaps "wonderful?" Very nice Stuart, as we've come to expect. The photo's composition gets the fore-mid-background relationship in a way that works wonders.
Noticed the extra effort put into the production of this video…made a difference and I think regular viewers will appreciate it. My personal taste for wide angle portrait shots, is a little less foreground and a little more of those wonderful mountains
Thanks, my personal preference isn’t to shoot this sort of stuff full stop but you work within the constraints of the conditions presented, the approach you mention would have been entirely unsuitable given relatively flat light and lack of interest on the mountains themselves, on another day perhaps.
Life is tough in Lofoten NOT - I've had a hard decision to make about which cup cake I would choose too, so opted out! Just my humour, Stuart - you have a wonderful, I'm immensely jealous, not bitter.
Great video Stuart, thank you. I always find it interesting to hear your thought process when composing your images. Great shots, I especially like the last image in landscape format. Looking forward to part 3!
What a beautiful location. Mrs G-J has promised me a trip over there and I can’t wait for it to happen. Really enjoyed the talks through your ideas, especially about walking the foreground, and some lovely photos as a result. Your patience was certainly rewarded with some nice light too. Looking forward to the next video 😊
Enjoyed the discussion about working the scene Stuart and really liked the final image with the interesting foreground linking up to the background via the reflection of the mountain in the water. The difference in the conditions between this year and last year is indeed striking but at least it gives you a broader appreciation of what the range might be for future workshops or personal trips back
Hi stuart, another interesting and engaging video, thanks for sharing. You make as many videos from a place as you like, I learn loads ... thankyou. I really like the last image too, though any one of them I'd have been more than happy to have made.
Thanks for another great video, and your generosity in sharing your thought process in constructing the image, particularly liked the comment re the importance of linking fore/middle/background parts the image.
I like the use of the drone while talking about the scence, not seen that before and that whole sequence was very well edited it looking smooth ans seamless :)
A really great insight into how you work your scene and what to look for, great images too ! Glad to see that Kase polariser is working well for you ! Great work as always, ps the drone shot looking down while talking was fantastic! Really gave a better understanding, I’m going to be stealing that ;)
Yet another great vlog from a fabulous location! Very insightful too, especially seeing the process of finding the most pleasing composition. It works too, judging by the beautiful images. Go on, spoil us with another one from Lofoten, I dare you 😉😂
Great video! I struggle sometimes to tie it all in together, either find an interesting foreground and can't tie it into the background, or have an amazing subject, but no foreground. I like when lens/setting info is displayed with the shot, but as unobtrusive as possible.
