How to shop for Polymer Clay Tutorial

This is a tutorial about the different types of polymer clay that I use when making charms or pendants. Sculpey III, Premo, and Fimo are the clays that I will be talking about. How they can work for you or not. When buying clay look for sales, some times you can get a great deal. They have 4 for $5 or you can get them for a $ 1 a piece.
*I have another video up about picking out tools and what they can do to clay for beginners.

if u want the clay to be less soft put it in between paper for a day and the oil will be taken out of it to make it less soft

Premo Accents line allows for making exciting and unique projects using an artist’s palette. The complete line of premo Accents has 24 rich colors. That is what I found. I think it just means that it allows you more choices in the polymer clay line. If you type it in there is site that shows you the different choices. Some of them have like sparkles mixed in to the clay to give it a different look. Before I guess they didn't have much choice in colors.

It depends on what clay your using, your oven, and the thinness that it is. For sculpey as an example you set your oven at temperature that is on the package , 275 degrees let it back for 15 minutes per quarter-inch in thickness. So if its really thick piece you should lower the oven to 265 degrees and you can cook it up to 60 minutes. When taking it out let it cool before touching it because it will be soft. You can bake 10 min, add more, bake 30 mins. to your clay.The clay sticks to itself.

Carol Hunter Slater Polymer clay is not food safe. So anything you'd eat off of our drink off of shouldn't have polymer clay on it.

How much is polymer clays? It depends on where you buy it. On Amazon its a little more expressive. If you can go to a Micheals craft store they have the best prices. I believe the Fimo Polymer Clay is $2.79 a block but I wait till they have a sale like the other day I could get 4 for 5 which made them $1.25 a piece. I hardly ever buy at full price these days. I use a coupon since I am always shopping at the craft stores. Premo is little cheaper and still is great to work with.

TRUE FACTS MUST WATCH hi you should be able to get it on Amazon if you do not have access to a craft store I like to use FIMO SOFT clay and it comes in different colors and you can still use Premo sculpey as well. They can easily be blended together to make different colors. Pay attention to how long they need to be in the oven the packages differ in how long they need to bake. I have another video on surfaces you can bake on. Hope this helps.

thas the one thing for me is too soft really hard to keep a form like faces, hands, i like the Fimo, Sculpey Premo, super Sculpey, and that CosCaly

You can now mix clays to get the type of constancy you want now and its pretty easy with a food processor. You just need to pay attention to how long they have to bake for it if the are pretty close in temperature and time you can mix the clays. I am about in maybe this weekend to post up how to mix clay with a food processer.

I have three that I have been working on. I just haven't gotten them finished. One on conditioning old clay, one on mixing clays, and one on making clay a certain thickness. I have two of them done but haven't posted them up yet. I plan to get them up this weekend. The third I have to put in more content since my phone decided to stop working through part of the tutorial.

You can, but i dont like using them because i use my fingers to blend the clay and it doesnt really work with the gloves on :D

i was soooo amazed and wishing so muccch to work with this clays did tyons hours days or work adn rererch but i didnt go for i i was too afraid from the chmicals on them

Well I'm not indian so I don't know, but in most places in the world it is much cheaper online, in places like Amazon or eBay and place. Hope this helps you.😊
