Thank you SO much for pointing out right up front that this only works on PCs. I have a Mac, and it is frustrating to see something cool in a video and then have to go hunting to see if it isn't working on mine because I have to use different keys on the Mac, or it doesn't work on Mac at all, or if it's because I am not using Office 365. SOOO appreciate you just throwing that prerequisite out there right up front. Saves me a lot of time!!!

Thanks Donna, my understanding is that Apple does not allow Microsoft to add these guides (something to do with the operating system). It would make my teaching life a lot easier too if they worked on a Mac too. I'm keeping my fingers crossed (but not holding my breath).

Greetings Taylor, (slight bow), What a fine fellow you are! You are the Richard Rost (Microsoft Access) of PowerPoint being right up there and I thank you for being so. Is there a way to hide the Ribbon and the Scrollbar in PowerPoint from the end user using VBA? I want to place the PP (it’s a catalogue which uses hyperlinks to jump to a relevant slide) in in Microsoft Teams?

You can hide the Ribbon by hitting Ctrl + Shift + F1. You can hide the Thumbnails on the left by holding Ctrl + Shift and clicking the Normal icon at the bottom of your screen, but I'm not sure if you can hide the scroll bar on the right. I'm sure there is using VBA. I would check out Steve's site for that( www.rdpslides.com/pptfaq/) as he is an excellent PowerPoint coder.

Ribbon guides are not limited to Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. All of the office products have them. So do Notepad, WordPad, and even File Explorer (but only on Windows 10. It is one of the many things that were lost when they gutted FE for Windows 11.)

Great point Tom. Yes another great reason why nailing these guides are important. Cheers!

Great but Tab key doesn't work with Windows

Do you mean that your Tab key is currently not working? If not, the Tab key works great with Windows for moving forwards and backwards through things. It works in PowerPoint too. You can Tab and Shift+Tab through the Ribbon. Although I don't find that as useful as just hitting the keys as they light up using the Alt key, but it is an option. You can also Tab your way through all the objects on a PowerPoint slide, or Shift+Tab to walk backwards through them.
