I have a levis jacket 98% cotton 2% spandex what would be the best way to shrink it without 1. Losing alot of color and 2. It only shrinking about 5% it fits good but would fit perfect if it shrunk just a tad bit. Thanks.
Hi! I have a pair of Levi's that are a tad to wide and way too long. I would like to shrink them to fit, however these don't say "shrink to fit", "loom-state" or "unsanforized" - can I still shrink them? How hot should the water be in Celsius? Thanks!
¡Sí! la cantidad de encogimiento varía de tela a tela, pero este es el proceso que usamos para encoger cualquier mezclilla que se encoge para ajustar. por favor, perdone cualquier error, ¡utilicé el traductor de Google!
That's a great question! We recommend this method for any denim that is specifically labeled "shrink-to-fit", or "loom state" or "unsanforized." Most jeans with spandex in the denim have been sanforized, so a soak like this won't shrink them that much. But in general, hot water and hot dry will always shrink denim up a bit, including denim with spandex. If you give it a try, let us know how it turns out!
i tried this method on my levi's made & crafted - 99% cotton 1% elastan, they have shrunk but just a little, so you can try this method, but the result will not be the same as on stf jeans
I find this method very questionable, hot water and heat is the enemy of denim. Wear your jeans in the bath tub for at least 30 mins, the water should be room temperature or cold. then get out of the tub and wear the jeans for several hours let the jeans dry to the shape and form of your legs
You're right that hot water and heat in general are enemies of cotton-based garments. We've come across many different methods of dealing with unsaforized fabric, and this is the one we prefer. But to each their own! The wear-it-while-you-get-in-the-tub method also works. Whether you're working with warm water, cold water, hanging to dry or wearing to dry, if you're taking the time to thoughtfully care for your clothes we think you're on the right track. Thanks for the comment!
There are definitely many ways to approach shrink to fit and we know this is not the end all be all. However, our production team rigorously tests the denim in all temperatures (air and water) and we cut the jeans to be big enough for a hot water soak. This video was from a run a few months ago and the jeans and shrink to fit experience were all a success with our happy customers.
