I don't get this, every side chaining tutorial doesn't seem to mention how when you increase the gain on the bus (the little dial) to make sure you're sending a signal to the compressor (as you mentioned at 4:09) it increases the overall volume of that instrument. I assume this is because you're basically doubling the signal: one being the original signal and the other being the new one being sent to the compressor. I've always just rectified this by turning the instrument down either in the plugin itself or on the channel strip after turning the bus dialup but I feel like this messes with the signal chain and makes things more confusing to work with (e.g. if I want to create another bus to another side chained compressor on a different instrument; surely I'd just be turning down that instrument more and more each time to compensate for the increase in volume every time I created a new bus from that channel, not to mention how that decrease would then affect all of the sidechains I made before. Dunno if that makes any sense or if I'm overcomplicating things, any help from anyone would be appreciated :)

I'm unclear about one thing: are you supposed to side chain the kick/drum's compressor to itself? At 4:19 you can see that the SideChain track is side chained to Bus 11 (itself), but at default this is internal for me, and you didn't mention it, so I'm confused.

I feel like you are only ducking the busses output, which is separate from the drum tracks output itself. So you are ducking basically a second kick, not the original tracks kick.

Btw where can i download logic pro x?

Can’t follow this at all, you have your drums on bus 11 but your bass is on bus 12 sorry but totally lost 😞

bro turn your auto gain off, and sidechain the bass to a short click sample instead of the kick drum itself because the kick drum is too long and your shortest release time still might not be enough. Also you said 100:1 ratio would be absolutely insane but dubstep and trap producers do it all the time.
