How do we do non-natural numbers? For instance, -17, 3/5, 26.83, 4.3e27, 2+1i . I am working on a physics degree and would love to be able to sign the math conversations you my deaf classmates. On that note, a video talking about signing summations, equations, integrals, derivatives, partial differential equations, the Greek alphabet etc would much be appreciated.
Ok, I may have jummed the gun to calculus, algebra would also be helpful. So, just equations, basic math operations, square root, cube root, squared, cubed, log(x), f(x) e^x, sin(x). An example sentence could be sin^2(theta) + cos^2(theta) = 1
im not deaf or fluent in asl but i do just wanna say i feel like there are some things your gonna have to write down? but i do hope u find you answer! i know that there's a sign for fraction though
There is a hard at hearing girl in my school, and I'm up late tonight hoping to be able to learn some numbers, and conversation starters so I can talk to her. Wish me luck!😪😊
I will be working with a Deaf builder this Spring putting up solar panels on my home. Right now his wife who is also Deaf is coaching me at work once a week for 30 minutes. All of this (which includes your free videos) helps immensely. Had I no Deaf friends I would desperately need to enroll in your course. As it is, I desperately need to watch this video many, many, many times before I work with him. Why should Deaf people have to do all the work to understand hearing folks. I want to make it easier for people I appreciate and love to meet me halfway. Maybe I will be able to become fluent enough as we chat in asl/ASL to go to a Deaf theater productions with them someday. People like you Meredith reinforce making ASL seen more and more as part of normal broadcast/social media programming. My prayer is it will become a commonly spoken language in all of society and not an exception.
Any chance you guys can do RU-vid signs? Such as - *Subscribers, Likes, Algorithm, etc.* I've been wanting to incorporate signs into my gaming channel and I haven't seen a video for RU-vid related signs. Plus, out of all the asl vids I've watched, you guys do the best at teaching it.
this video is genius, i leaned some of the word signs (like hundred, all together; instead of have, some grammar) quite different then you teach them. it’s so interesting to see the small differences in asl grammar depending on where you learned. it’s such an intricate language that it has its on dialects. just like english accents from different places in the world. so freaking interesting.
GREAT!!!!This is very helpful for a beginner like me and my client! Am a public school teacher at the same time a Sunday school teacher in a local church mission but still wanna involve in deaf peoples world to be able to win them to Christ too
❤PLEASE❤ It would be extremely helpful if you did practice (video shorts)- Of about 5 things at a time. I could just keep it on replay, so my brain doesn't hurt or feel overwhelmed. I am healing from a traumatic brain injury- Thank you from the bottom of my heart. God Bless you.❤ I truly appreciate everything you do for us. ❤❤❤🙏🕊🌟👑💐💐💐
Thank you so very much for your video. You are a great teacher and I love that on RU-vid I can slow the speed down so I can better see the hand and finger movements and position. 😁
It's 2 am and I am clocked in and at work while everyone else is sleeping. I'm trying to figure out how to communicate with wales via beatboxing. Knowing some ASL probably won't hurt my cause. Thank You ❤
can you make a video about how to sign stuff like "The fourth door on your left down the hall" or "The fifth level of the building" ? thank you for making the content that you do, idk where I would be without it tbh
How do we not confuse numbers with letters. Like the sign for "F" looks like the sign for "9", or the sign for "6" looks like the sign for "W" and sign for the letter "O" looks like the number "0"
Typically this is just decided in the form of context but if numbers and letters are combine together then it can use the sign letter and number before F and 9 etc.
I just stumbled across this channel today; this is my second video to view. Great content, speaking from a pedagogical work space -- I just know I'll devour this channel's content eventually. I wasn't even looking to learn sign language. One topic would excite me a lot to see a video on: Are there aspects of SL that bring ambiguity to the table that don't seem to exist in verbal language, or at least the indo-european tree? (Not that I'm any less interested in information regarding other language families, by any means!)
I wonder why in the 20's you have to use your index and thumb instead of just your index and middle finger, but all good. I'm understanding! Numbers was a lot easier than I thought it was going to be.
I love how she explains the rules on most of them but I’m so confused about the 20s. Why do we sign 21, 23, 25 like that ? Why can’t it be the same way for how we do all the other numbers.
I started watching your videos recently. I was wondering if it matters which hand you use ? (st upid question) but I’m interested in learning. Ex: Previous video I watched she did the “forget it” sign and she used her right hand. Im a lefty so I’ll be more likely to use always my left hand, wanted to know if that’ll be a different sign - meaning.
I have a question, How do you separate 2 numbers, like 3 and 5 without it looking like 35, is there a pause to separate them or is there a another way, i'm just starting to learn and i don't know too much.
Quick question my friend is deaf so obviously I use sign language to communicate with her. Will she get confused with 0 and o when i’m signing or is there a difference?
So I work retail and there’s a new girl starting so I want to say pant sizes right so for 0-9 I have my palm facing her but for ex: 12 and 14 do I still have it flipped? In your video the top of the hand was facing the camera instead of the palm. Thanks!!!
Deaf person when they see your brand new Jordans: * pushes fists together twice * * then moves their index finger past their nose, not touching, but close * (shoes fake/your Jordan’s are fake XDDDD)
This is confusing me. I was told that when you do numbers 0-5 your palm faces outward and when a number is attached to a noun or object it faces inward. Is that not the case here?
I have a very serious question. I just seen where you charge $50. $50 for a hoodie with love in ASL. While deaf people have made it pretty clear we don't support hearing people teaching ASL we have dealt with it. But this has crossed a line. You are hearing. Do you have any deaf people in your family? You are making money off deaf people. Are you donating that to Gallaudet or any other deaf organization? You can not do this. Not only this you also CHARGE to teach ASL on your website. Deaf people already don't have enough access to it yet you want to charge people? How dare you. I will making videos and spreading this everywhere I can. This is outrageous and the deaf community deserves better
