Aha it’s because in korea if you feel frustrated you say “feels like I ate sweet potatoes” since they can be dry. In this sense she’s using sweet potatoes like they’re not allowing her full vocal ability/sound
: what technique do you use? ariana: vai va dontdropwater falsetto with a sweet potato arc toshio motor super airy super tight pingponging sporadic classical vibrato voice 😁
This is the best Ariana Grande's impression I've ever seen, the air and the tone and the high notes it's impressive, but it's really hard to do her runs because she's using her jaw to do it. HAHAHA
Nothing Special it’s impressive how she can kinda sound like her but it’s still very different. Idk...I guess when you listen to someone so many times you can clearly distinguish that person’s voice from an impersonation.
ALLEN SINGS ofc she's not gonna sound identical. I mean dUh that's obvious. But being a die hard ari fan myself i can tell you that If you saw ari on stage and she dubbed her voice you wouldn't be able to tell at all.
Dude youre quite possibly the only person that made a detailed and actually useful video about how to sound like her!! The dropping the water example helps a ton thank you
I notice that the eng sub is like your inner self and its hilarious. you've been politely accused your cold in korean while the eng sub " as if I used to be good " HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAH
She says sweet potato because it's easy for her to visualise, all those singers actually use similar techniques, but the way Chu understands it is a thick voice. In singing teacher terms, there's probably a word or phrase for their tone and the area that they sing from (Throat, Chest, Stomach). They probably all use throatier voices (as an example).
