So I want to learn to sing, scream and sing with distortion but I have no background with doing such would you lessons be able to teach me everything I need to know?
Finding your channel is like finding gold, it's incredible how clear you are while explaining and showing these techniques in the time of a short video
Wayyyyyy harder then it looks I’ve been practicing this for years and still can’t get it I can sing normally decently well and can do fry and false chord screams but I absolutely cannot mix them for the life of me great vid man! 😂❤
Same. I also know how to sing and scream with false chords and fry screams, but combining the two is DIFFICULT I just wanna sing with a raspy voice so i can cover certain songs for gigs lol
@@zekie106 If you do it properly it should be the opposite, to the point where its so easy to get rasp on the high notes that it tends to automatically happen and the lower notes stay clean (which is why a lot of singers go raspy only when they go high). It should feel like a sparkle in your mask (closer to your nose) not in your throat.
@@zekie106 look up Studio West he's got a couple videos on mixed voice that go over falsetto fry. Maybe that can get you kick started (tho its not this style of fry for sureee)
hey from Alaska love your videos man!!! been practicing hear and there and watching my animals heads snap up as I hit notes after your videos is the greatest
I have been watching you for months now. And I have learned so much and made a little progress but I'm not stopping until I can get those crazy vocals I'm looking for. Everyone says I'm really good but I think I'm horrible
i learned how to vocal fry yesterday. I also learned how to hit a G1 using subharmonics using vocal fry. very neat this is one of those cool skills you can learn in a day (though it takes longer to perfect and do well consistently)
It's weird...when I make these noises I just sound like a missed my meds. You do them and make art lol. Super impressive. I saw your Chester Bennington vocal and subbed.
This is awesome I've been screaming heavy metal in bands for 20 years without realizing how much went into it. Do the cobaine scream. Most iconic scream period. Butch vig lost his shit when he heard Kurt scream
WAH WAH WAH, WAH WAH WAH, AH HA, WAH WAH WAH, WAH WAH WAH MA MAAAA MAWOAHHH, WOH WOH WAH , WAH WAH WAAAAHHH, WOAH WAH WAH, WOOOOAH WAHHHH, WAHHHHHHWHAT DO YOU WANT ME TO SAY?? DO YOU WANT ME TO SAYYYYYYYY?? TO MAKE THIS FEELING GOO AWAYYYYT
The way you teach is insane. In a few steps you translate the impossible in possible. Can you provide kind of clear guidance also on the clean mixed voice and belting used in musical theatre or within certain progressive metal band (Tesseract)?
This sounds like there are 2 types of vocal distortion and i don't mean he put it on top from some other attempt or anything i mean he legitimately does both at the same time, or at least that's how it sounds, the clean part of it seems separate as as well.
I can get a guttural growl happening easily and can get my fry voice easily, but when I try to fry scream, it is just not happening. I have been trying for a while but still no success.
Hey EVI, really enjoying your content. I did a rehearsal today with a Sludge band and it went well, but since I just learned false chord I only have the base growl down (cant tunnel yet but ik its tongue placement and stuff) Are sore false chords normal after a 2 hr practice for an uncleans noob? Also a slightly sore larynx from I guess compensation. Thanks!
Ooooooh that sounded good pulled together. I love your videos. You're part of the reason my low screams are on a song on RU-vid, now. So, thank you very much!
Is there a chance you can do a more detailed video on this? I really can't get the hang of it.... Sometimes I do but then its more distorted even tho clearly there's pitch in the scream. Really wanna do stuff like this in my band 😅
How can i make the higher pitch function with note? When i do ot pitchless i can go really high on the scream, but when i put note, my fry dissapears. And if I tey to push it i get sore.
Im trying to figure out how to get Paul McCartney like vocals a la Monkberry Moon Delight. Seems like this covers a lot of his singing but how would you describe the technique he is using in the verses?
I don't know about all that, but if you focus your breath to the roof of your mouth and slightly behind your sinuses, you can channel that fry. Then, if you allow a slight bit of saliva to sit between the back of your tongue and your throat, you get that gnarly Attila sound. If you do all of that but try to sound as nasaly as you can, then you'll sound like Chester Bennington, and if you open your airways a bit lower but force the air up you'll sound like Bring Me the Horizon.
