Tip 4 (poles) is very important. I see many beginners now skiing without poles at all, and that prevents them from developing a proper technique.

Great lesson Chris, I disagree with the transition advice. Rather than send the chest and shoulders over the skis diagonally, I thrust the COM instead, while this encourages the classic crossover it also stabilizes the relationship between the feet and center of mass. This is very powerful forcing the skis into an aggressive faster short turn. Focusing on the chest/shoulders encourages bending forward thus encouraging the dreaded back seat . Cheers
