Great video. I've been building for 37 years and I've done lots of texture. Your video however has made it seem so much simpler than the stress I've felt at every point of texture. I now feel you've shown the no stress approach. Thanks 👍

Incredible how unkind some people are, hiding behind their screens. I looked for hours to find the texture that matches my walls and you are it! Don't need sand, lol.My home was super hi-end southwestern when I bought it and this is what it had with bright white, matte walls. TY!!

Same, I've built a lot and texture was always stressful. This appearance is what I've wanted. No more blade texture, I'm using a trowel.

It seems like so many different textures are called "skip trowel". This looks like old plaster which is what we wanted. But we have to do this over orange peel! Maybe we will need to sand it.

This is exactly what I was looking for thank you. I am building a home brewery and my builder didn't listen to me then bailed on me saying they couldn't do what I wanted. I am almost done but trying to finish up the drywall section I had to rip apart.

True skip trowel texture is with a sand compound and the sand is what skips it!

I thinned it quite a bit and I used the light weight mud in the blue box.

What's this type of texturing called? I can match this as I've done plenty of texturing but there has to be a name for it. I'd appreciate it.

I've heard it described as "Imperfect Smooth" out here in California. I think "Skip Trowel" texture is similar to "Imperfect Smooth" but a little more emphasis on the texture, if that makes sense. I'm not an expert - just some guy on the internet.

Looks like you know how to hang but you sure dont know how to finish. You got joint starvation. Also forget about judging your finished product when you finish. Youre not gonna know what the finished product looks like for about 3 years (shifting, settling and especially the way todays crappy lumber twists inside the wall). I sure hope you glued that wallboard. The drywallers around here will not guarantee any drywall job where the board is not glued.

I think my joints are the bee's knees. Either way, the video is about skip trowel texture NOT taping and floating. So you CAN see the finished product as soon as its painted. Oh, and I didn't glue the sheet rock (wallboard) either.

I am sure the insurance company is going to tear off a piece of drywall to inspect glue application ahaha....Glue is overkill just another reason for goofy contractors to charge extra. So flush your glue comment

Not sure what you are talking about, but new homes come with skip troweled walls as well. Severity varies by area, but it is still quite prominent in the west.
