Skirting is the next step after shearing a fleece. Let's look in detail at how to skirt, with several examples and tips. We will be viewing Shetland and Suffolk fleeces in this video.
Amazing! I've been trying to find an answer to thee questions for long time! Everyone just glosses through the process, but you showed the bad parts. Thanks
This is GREAT. My family has a Sheep farm in Ireland and we just shear and sell with no cleaning. Next year I want to skirt and clean. Its only around 150 Sheep now (used to be 350 or so). I saw another Video from New Zealand where they make racks similiar to yours but use Chicken wire which has larger holes and the racks were roughly around 7 feet long on saw horses. We have a large Agricultural Barn with room to set up on a wee bit of a larger scale. Thank you so much. On to your next Video!
Awesome! What breeds do you have? For the skirting table, you can use hardware cloth with bigger holes. The chicken wire might scratch you or snag the wool, it's kind of sharp. I like for it to be a comfortable height for standing, but you could do any length you want. Or make multiple tables for multiple people. 👍
