Thank you!! We just came in overweight on our drive axles, were having a tough time making it work, watched your video and VOILA! (I hadn't dropped the landing gear nor dumped the air bags). Now I'm much less ticket-worthy than I was 15 minutes ago BECAUSE OF YOU. Many thanks and please stay safe out there driver!
I was actually overweight at a weigh station on my front trailer axle (spread axle) by 2200, so I slid them to the front up toward the tractor thanks to this video (3 of months tractor trailer experience). Then went back around for them to reweigh me. I was still basically 2200 overweight and they send my ass back to Seattle from Umatilla Oregon lol Thankfully I'm hourly lol
It can still be done just not as convenient, it’s ideal to do when you have an empty trailer, once connected have the trailer landing gear down enough to take weight off the truck then you’ll be able to move the fifth wheel, just raise your landing gear once you have it set where you want it.
Didn't fly what a pos new truck and won't even slide that was same here lil over weight on drives ,not a big deal fuel only reason it's over but I'd prefer legal just cause. Man I'm pist. Now junk sob.
Lol rookies sliding the 5th wheel yo the rear, but then you're driving tech trucks that tell you everything you are doing... for a better ride snd be legal, slide the 5th wheel 1 space past center
Not sure what you mean but as far as the position closer or further from the cab itself that’ll be up to you and if it’s required to make sure you are driving within legal weight limit, or if your referring to the fifth wheel pins they should be all the way out again once it’s in your preferred spot to make sure it stays put while on the road. Most people suggest having it set all the way back to always avoid being off on your weight but that’s not always the case so again as you need to adjust it’s position.
