What symptoms did you have for changing the in-fuel-tank fuel pump? I am trying to figure out if I need to change the fuel pump inside the tank or the fuel pump that is outside the tank. I will probably just change the fuel pump inside the tank first since that is the easier job to do and see if that clears up my symptoms. I’m having a hard start issues, some strange idling problems when the car is in park or neutral, and every so often I have a hard time accelerating or going up very steep hills.
The car would have difficulty starting, it would randomly die as well as having low power. While the symptoms arent directly related to the fuel pump, they would trigger the check of the three mains points of a ICE. Check the fuel spark and air. From there i was able to check the fuel pressure levels and found them to vary during operation.
Just replaced my pump in my 84 733, had to solder a new wire cause the new pump was shorter. Used solid wire instead of stranded. Still isnt pumping! It did pump when i connected with a jumper from my battery. Any ideas? Appreciate it man! Great video! Liked and subscribed.
Test the wire Going to the pump for power. If there is no power, check the fuse for the fuel pump. If the fuse is good and you still don't have power, check the fuel pump relay. If the relay isn't getting any power, then you'll need to start digging into the controller systems.
The flow rate is the close to stock and the diameter of the gas hose is the same, so the pressure should not increase by anything aignificant. I haven't had any issues in the 5000miles I've driven. Running the stock fuel pressure regulator too.
CarlosV198D Thanks! I think my sensor is busted so it's not detecting a full washer tank. S52 swap! Nice! I want to do a swap as well, but I just don't have the free time. I love working on machines, but I rather be riding dirtbikes! Do share your swap!
