Very cool! As a professional musician since the '60s, it is exciting to be learning NEW things again. Thank You Very Much for what you're doing. You explain it clearly, and simply. I like that.
this bloke is a telepath.. every vid he knows what i've been always asking...( i mean YT AI might be inside my head but i haven't written online anything about whole tones and augmenteds ) Pragmatist but a total artist laying down those elegant lines. Liked, subscribed yep.
Thank you, Robin. Great stuff. I’m a sucky player just starting with gypsy jazz. I’ve got your book (excellent!), your bundle of masterclasses (working through the Jumpstart one slowing, loving it) and I’m hooked on your channel. You’re my pandemic panacea.
That diminished sound is brilliant for building tension right before a chord change. Or I think it sounds sweet as on that V chord on a I VI II V sequence (just a personal fave)
Robin, another great lesson. I do find it hard to make melodies with the whole tone scale/sound as opposed to normal e7 and diminished chords...whole tone sound is a bit hard to get "into"your ears....thanks a million again, these lessons are really helpfull !
Gypsy Jazz Secrets It sure does along with many of your videos! Thank you for the passion in getting this info out here to us. You are very much appreciated! If you are ever in Tampa, let’s Jam!
hi Paul we just added a new arpeggio course to the Gypsy Jazz Club with lots of cool shapes & patterns. That’s where all the best training is plus private coaching and 6 live sessions per month. If you’re interested you can take a 14-day free trial and check it all out. www.gypsyjazzclub.com 🙏💕🎸
BrianMolina Musik hey Brian - I’m not really an expert on Modes and don’t think in modes when I improvise. I did make a video a couple weeks ago about the G Dorian sound over C7 which you might find interesting. It’s called Play This easy scale over C7. Cheers, Robin
@@GypsyJazzSecrets You must mean Joe Barden, unless the former vice president is branching out! Cool - I'm going to invest in one of those. Thanks, man.
Hi Robin, greetings from Thailand, and thanks for your great lessons. As usual I am confused, and wonder if you could please clarify something. What is the diminished chord you are playing over the E7 ? It cannot be an Edim7, but appears it could be Ddim7, Fdim7, G#dim7 or Bdim7. The reason for asking is I am trying to get my head round the theory and wanting to use the full diminished scale, but unsure which one to use, (rather than just use the chord notes). Hope this makes sense. Thank you.
