How to Solo With the Entire Fretboard - Ukulele

Today we are going to learn how to solo with the entire fretboard, to be able to do that the skill you need to develop is how to connect scale shapes. The pentatonic, as well as all other scales, have 5 shapes. To be able to solo fluidly up and down the neck you have to be able to connect this shapes while soloing. This can be confusing when people are learning and any effort to do so sounds like going from scale shape to another scale shape.
I like to think of every scale shape as having entry and exit points and using slides to get to them helps me stay in the finger position that I need to play them. So to help you learn this skill I have put together 5 licks, two that go from shape 1 to 2, to that go from shape 2 to 3, and one that goes from 1 to 2 to 3 then all the way back down to 1.
Once you have mastered these skills the next step is for you to learn how to apply these ideas from shape 3 to 4, 4 to 3, 4 to 5 and 5 to 4 and lastly form 5 to 1 and from one to 5, but the principals taught here will make developing those skills on your own easy.
