What is up everybody and welcome back! In today's video I'm sharing a pair of thumbscrews I found on Amazon that completely clear the body of the GoPro Media, making it so much easier to use! gopro needs to make a media mod that allows people to remove the gopro without having to unscrew anything. so dumb that they integrated the folding fingers come out of the media mod. you can't easily slide the GoPro it in and out.

I know the feeling all too well my friend. This one little thumb screw makes the entire Media Mod actually user friendly, game changing. Lol

On your recommendation, I purchased the Winged Extended Thumbscrew so I could tighten it down using the media mod, and guess what, the screw is too short to reach the other side. I had to modify two of them so I could tighten them down. I carefully took a hacksaw and cut off the little piece on the wing part making the screw just long enough to catch the holding nut. I am also using the GoBUDi Extension Pole Set compatible with All GoPro Hero Cameras. After removing the small piece on the wing nut they work just fine now but I shouldn't have had to do that.

Great info thanks. My situation is a little bit different, I been looking for a thumb screw that clears the body by at least 1" b/c when I'm Moto Vlogging traveling on my motorcycle the GoPro is mounted on my left side handle bars and I use the GoPro swivel b/c it allows me to turn the camera in any direction left to right or down and up to capture scenic views and myself when I'm talking to the camera. So currently I need to grab the entire body of the camera to do so which puts my fingers in front of the lens. Having an extended thumb screw could act as a handle with leverage b/c turning the camera is very stiff.

Oh yes, I could see this being perfect for you. It's a great thumbscrew to have, and they're really inexpensive for a 5 pack. Hopefully they work out for you!

Hey Stan, with the goquick 2 and long tripod, with the media mod, do you just need to buy the buckle mount adapter that you have listed?????

The tripods come with the GoPro style mounts. You only need to get the extra accessories if you want more mounting options.

Typical GoPro issue. Buy a DJI like I did, batteries don't die and they don't overheat. 🤷‍♂️

If your use case allows, you can take out the battery and use either an external battery or the Volta for battery.

I've tried that before as well and it's still not the best solution. Still gets hot. And you're also losing the mobility aspect of an action camera.

what about the other BIG issue.. Media mode makes the gopro no longer waterproof. I think this is worse than the changing screws. Water could ruin the gopro!

I don't take mine near water so never had to worry about. Also, I don't see why you would be using a media mod if you were going too be in the water anyways. 🤷‍♂️

Yeah, I wouldn't be worried about it in rain. It's still water resistant. It just can't be submerged. No idea what else to tell you though. I don't even use GoPro anymore. 🤷‍♂️🤷‍♂️🤷‍♂️
