Mick, this is incredible. When Starlink satellites were first launched, there was a website that shared when they'd be over my location. Many times, I'd go outside & watch them go overhead. It was interesting to see them in a line. Sure did cause quite a stir when they were first launched. I also track the ISS so I can go outside & wave to the Astronauts. 😉Thank you, this is definitely something I will enjoy doing. Hopefully, when people see these flares they will take the time to research.

I suppose Starlinks are way more numerous than the old Iridium satellites (before Iridium Next). But the flares of Iridium satellites were crazy. I am saying like -2 or -3 magnitude in the night. For a few seconds they were mich brighter than any stars or planets you could see in the night sky. And using tools like heavens above, I could predict them by the second. It did help me to show off a few times. But iridium flares are long gone now.

Once you start stargazing you start to see a surprising ammount of satellites, you don't really expect it so I can see why people think they're UFOs, especially if they aren't using astronomy software to confirm what it is.

Thanks for the great work Mick. I'm interested to hear your take on the jellyfish, it looks like a camera smudge to me but I'm no expert or even experienced with this stuff.

Maybe the way the object goes into the water without a splash, and then splits in half after it comes out of the water, that's where you felt nonplussed and had no ideas?

Absolutely amazing tool! I'd suggest to have the possibility to go up at least 41000ft or even a bit higher, thats the max altitude for many commercial planes, business jets go up even further. Also maybe put the unit (ft) behind the "camera altitude" name to make it clearer.

Is it intentional that the globe's north pole can be rotated away from the upwards direction in the window? Just messing with it randomly, it feels really weird to be looking at a rotated Aftrica. ... OK, I see in the video that you're using that to orient the camera as intended. It's still a little weird; might be nice to have a button to rotate back to North=Up.

There was a report today that the Chinese spy balloon used an American ISP to send its broadcasts in burst transmissions. I would think it has to be starlink because of its satellites, right?
