I am getting married to someone from Sierra Leone, so your video is most helpful. We plan to travel to his home, so I would love to speak to his family in Krio.

Its easy for Jamaicans to understand Krio our patois (patwah) is similar

Sierra Leoneans have a lot in common with Jamaicans 👌

Just two words can explain the similarities between Jamaican Patois and Krio. (The Maroons). The maroons from Jamaica arrived in Sierra Leone in 1800. According to linguists, they influenced the emergent Krio dialect more than any other settler group. Thus explains their similarities

I have a frustrating experience. Not knowing where to begin or hitting a plateau can feel demoralizing and make it hard to hit the books and study like you know you should…Having friends from other cultures makes me more creative. In fresh ways about space and how people create their own world and environment. It is best way to connect between creative thinking and cross-cultural relationships!

Thanks sis! I have found out my maternal lineage is from Salone. I'll be looking into citizenship this year! Have you thought about making an online course that diasporas could buy to learn Krio? I think you would have a big audience! Shoot me a message if you need ideas getting it set up. :)
