Thank you Shelly! Your comments made my day! Also, I noticed your username has the word "bazinga", just wanna say I'm a diehard fan of big bang theory as well!
Another good option would be the New Studio Ghibuli park near Nagoya, if you can get tickets! If you are interested in Japanese architecture then I recommend Meiji Mura!
I thought Kusanagi is kept in a box, only for the Emperor to open? Coz something about they're not sure if it's actually inside, so pass on the box as if it's there.
The one on display is just a model. The real one is said to either be kept by the royal family as you mentioned, or that nobody even knows where its true location is.
One of the things that almost no tourist does is take the West Chuo line from Nagoya into Gifu. After you pass Kozouji ~30min, you're immediately in the mountains with many train stations to stop at and enjoy the scenery. Did a 4 day trip along the line at Ryokans and airbmb's. Amazing experience with very little tourists. Not recommended with those with no Japanese language skills.
Just so everyone knows, you cannot ACTUALLY see the Kusanagi sword. You're not worthy😂. It's a sacred treasure, and if it is still around, it is SAID to the held in the shrine.
@North.... have you eaten the eel with sauce or at stalls at festivals (one would be Obon festivals in August everywhere Japan) there is the squid on charcoal grill .... 😊
Hey Wayne, so sorry to hear about that! I am actually making a video on the ghibli theme park next and will include your info about purchasing tickets in advance. Hopefully it will help others!
