I was into gun spinning for years. I remember teaching myself to spin my toy Peacemaker as a kid. Nerds will always complain about how dangerous gun spinning is, and then I show them it’s unloaded. I’m glad he mentioned that gun spinning is painful, you need to build called us on your fingers, just like playing a guitar, it takes time. Remember, before spinning a gun always ALWAYS check the cylinder.

That's the one i wanted to see! You call it "flat spin" and i called it "Johnny Ringo," but either name you give it, it's pretty badass. Seeing the fingers go UNDER the gun was the key to the trick that i needed to see! Off to try it myself! Thanks!!

In the beginning God created Heaven and Earth. He created humans too to have a relationship with Him. That's our purpose as humans that have a relationship with God. Sin, however, messed that up because it made us imperfect and imperfect creatures cannot have a relationship with a perfect and holy God. That's why we so oftentimes feel empty, unsatisfied and unaccomplished because we're not in relationship with the God we were created to be in a relationship with. But that's where Jesus comes in. Jesus is God's son and He came down to earth in human form to live the same life we do yet unlike us He never sinned. Jesus is perfect. Yet despite the fact He is perfect He died on the cross for our sins and sacrifice Himself for us. The punishment for our sins is death but because Jesus took that punishment for us if we put our faith in Him and receive Him as Lord and savior we can be reconciled to God and be restored to that relationship we were created to have. And we can be sure that Jesus is the Son of God because on the 3rd day God raised Him from the dead and in that He defeated death and the grave, proving that He can do the same for us if we put our faith in trust in Him. That's how you get to Heaven. That's how you become full in your heart. That's how you become reconciled to the God who created you.

Just found your videos, and subscribed. I'm really enjoying them. I think with my dexterity, I will refer to your over-the-shoulder toss as my cauliflower ear toss. I'm retired now and have been looking for a hobby. I'm leaning towards some of the cowboy fast drawing. Not for competition, just to enjoy myself. Being that I grew up in the 50s and 60s, I have always enjoyed the old black and white westerns, and still watch them often. Looking at your holster description in the first video, it seems like I may need two holsters. One for quickdraw and one for spinning. What do you think? Have a great New Year! ~ Stay healthy, happy, and safe. ~

HI John, Welcome to the channel. I was always worried about hitting myself in the head but it's never happened. Maybe because I always wear a cowboy hat. But, I have hit my funny bone many times. The fast draw is fun. I use it in the show mainly for my own enjoyment. If you have the money to get a fast draw rig made, It may not be the best for spinning guns into. If you have a rig for spinning, you can use it for fast draw until you start to get serious. The Cowboy Quick Draw Ass. sets up their range at the SASS competitions. They shoot wax bullets at time sensitive targets. I suggest that you give it a try. It's very satisfying to hit the mettle target even if you don't win the round. They usually allow nonmembers to pay a small fee and shoot several times while competing against others. It's fun and lets you know exactly how you are doing. They are good guys. There is no reason to wait until you feel like you are "good enough" to do it. For the most part, the SASS and Quick Draw folks are not too excited about their members spinning guns. I guess I don't blame them. If I can be of help, just let me know. Thanks for the comments.

Awesome! I don't know how I lucked up and found your channel, but I'm glad I did. I learned to spin my Mattel Fanner 50's when I was about 5-7 years old. Later when I was about 11, I bought a Daisy BB pistol that was a Peacemaker replica---VERY nice BB pistol. It would spin as well. When Ruger first came out with the Vaquero I touched that trigger and NEW that it would spin SO MUCH easier than a Ruger Blackhawk (they'll chew up your finger badly!). I recently acquired another Vaquero, having sold my old model 25 years ago. I haven't tried in decades, but tomorrow I'm going to stand over the bed AND on a carpet and see if I can make them go around & around and wind up in the holster! HA!! Thanks much for the memories!!! Heck, I'll subscribe just for that. Thanks again, Roper.

Great videos . Very helpfull to a beginner like me . How tight is your rig around your hips? Too loose and it slids down and to tight it is uncomfortable. I notice yours stays in place with all your movements. Is it lined with roughout suede?
@rhinestoneropers9204
@rhinestoneropers9204 3 года назад
It's not lined. It's just tight. For the length of a practice or a performance, it's comfortable. But wearing it for hours at a time is not. A double rig is just too heavy to wear all day.

I noticed in this video your holsters are tied down with leather ties but for a few seconds the rig has them With wider leather belts with buckles . . Can you explain the advantages of the belts over the tie-down. Thanks . John
@rhinestoneropers9204
@rhinestoneropers9204 5 месяцев назад
HI John, the rig with the belts is more expensive. It has more metal in the holsters to hold it out away from the waist. It is built for fast draw. It is not good for spinning. Infact, I didn't know what I was buying when I got it. I don't wear it much so I can't say if there is any difference in belt verses string. The rigs that I practice and perform with have string. You have good eyes.
@johnwoodrow6536
@johnwoodrow6536 5 месяцев назад
Thanks for the explanation. I wondered if the belts were tighter and kept the holster In the same position and made reholstering easier to drop or flip the gun back into the holster . I do see it alot on fast draw .

Does practicing with loaded pistols throw off the balance much ?
@rhinestoneropers9204
@rhinestoneropers9204 3 года назад
Hi Tom, I have two points: 1. There is no balance. The Barrel is heavier and makes it easier to spin the gun than if the barrel were balanced with the grip. I think the live rounds would add more weight to the barrel-end so no problem. 2. I may have spun my guns with blanks in them, but only a few times. I have never done it with live rounds. I advise against practicing or performing gun spinning with blanks, primers or any projectile in your gun. Later Tom Dan

How loose fitting are the holsters for the guns? They look like they return to the holster with ease.
@rhinestoneropers9204
@rhinestoneropers9204 Год назад
HI Dune, The guns do not rattle around in the holsters but you are right, they are not snug. I need them to go in and out without hanging up. In fact if you look closely, you can see that my hammer loops on the holsters are made of elastic cord to hold them in. Sometimes I do rope tricks with them on and without the elastic loops, the guns will bounce out.

Thank you BigD. My shoulders are my Achilles Heal also. I have taken up hanging from a bar to reshape the shoulder bones. I like your comments. Regarding confidence, you are right on. I had to practice until I had confidence enough to perform in front of people. Skill is not enough. You have to have confidence to pull it off. Magic is the other thing. It feels like magic. It doesn't make sense to me that a little flick of the wrist will send the pistol arching forward over my shoulder, but it does somehow. As long as I trust, it happens.
