Great video but id be concerned that the wire isn't tinned. What about some thread lock? Had you any issues since installing this splice?

I was wondering if I could use a set of jumper cables instead of buying wire by the foot and you answered my question. Thanks for the video.!

great to see another common sense solution , my booster cable, 25 ft, 4 gauge was on sale at $12.49 at Princess Auto(Canada). I really hate spending $ when I do not have to, thanks for video....

I did this years ago to extend my tiller mounted trolling motors, kept the terminal clamps on. I will tell you that any connections with un tinned copper will corrode.

I added dielectric grease into a crimp connector. Every wire slid out out of the crimp because of the slickness of it. Very frustrating.. It led me to this youtube search. Lol. I'm gonna try these without the grease, or add it to the outside only.

How about soldering the connection after you have connected the wire with this connector?

Hey, great video and kit. My trolling motor positive & negative silver cable is 8 awg. Question is could I use and splice a 16 awg extension copper cable kit to my battery? Jump lead cable is a thicker gauge?

I do like the splice connector. That's exactly what I was looking for, but I wonder how long the wire will last since it's not marine wire? I always thought you needed to use tinned copper for marine wire.

Ive mounted 4 of them all work perfect . I assume your using the wrong kind of wire. You must use jumper cable wire, have a good splice and a good battery. I have friends with them as well and no problems

Is this still the right link to the cables, they are $25 now. Walmart search shows the same description "300 Amp 8 Gauge Jumper Cables" for $13.99 but i don't know if they are the same or copper clad.

@@addismultitasking3504 I need 50amps for my 55lb trolling motor. If the cables are only 8 gauge they may not be enough, so im looking at 6 gauge, unless i can find 8 awg 10 feet marine jumper cables. It looks like it is getting harder to find good copper cables now, or i just dont know what im doing.
