How to spot a fake N64 cartridge (updated)

In this video I show more details on how to spot a fake/repro N64 cartridge opposed to a real one.
Things to look out for:
-Rectangular dot in the Nintendo "i" and that its not abnormally small or abnormally big.
-Number on the back of the cartridge is punched in, not copied on or non-existent.
- Color of the board inside the cartridge is a brownish color and not white
- Logo's/ Trademarks are sharp and clear in detail and look to be an original part of the sticker and not photocopied on.

It’s crazy. I didn’t even know they made fake Nintendo 64 games. I bought two games off eBay and turns out they’re fake. I got my money back immediately.

Im so sorry to hear that! I think if buyers are selling fake games, they should let the buyer aware as there's nothing wrong with cheap re-pro carts as some people just want to play the games and dont care about authenticity. The problem comes when people make the fake games and try to sell them as genuine, like with what happened to you.

Also.. that Zelda cartridge is not an official label. And has a really bizarre subtitle 😂

Haha yes! It's a rom hack! Rom-Hacks and fake games use the same re-produced cartridges so the signs to look out for are the same! :)

Did 40 winks even get released? I thought it was finished but never actually released offically.

It did actually get a release, but nearly 20 years after the n64 was discontinued, so it's obviously not authentic to the era. Still sick it actually did get a release, though :)

It was released in 2018 or 2019 through Pico interactive!

@@isaiahmcclure8894 i mean, today repros looks almost (98%) like the original.. very hard to identify, some guys use so good quality printers and materials, tha make looks like genuine.. in a few years more the technology (with IA) will be the end for us xD..
