Hell Let Loose is a realistic World War Two first-person shooter with open battles of 100 players with infantry, tanks, artillery, a dynamically shifting front line, and a unique resource-based strategic meta-game. This is World War Two at a scale you’ve never played before.

I've found one of the most effective ways to spot enemies for me is to just.. stop moving. The human eye works with patterns, even "random" ones. When you're running and you're making everything move around you then your eyes cant really focus on anything abnormal, but when you stop moving and you spend ten to fifteen seconds just still, watching, your eye will very quickly pick up unnatural movement or breaks in the pattern. You'll very quickly notice the dome of a helmet breaking the straight line of the sky, or the human silhouette breaking up the wall of green as it moves along it, you're also much harder to spot in return if you just stop in some foliage, half backed into a hedge. Movement draws the eye.

@@BoleDaPole There's a massive difference between camping, being cautious, and sprinting wildly at your enemy. It's all about recognizing that there's a time to move forwards, fall back and to stop, stay still and listen.

You made me feel better now. I just downloaded it today. Played for an hour. First time. I tried to chat to the team but they were not very talkative. So I just followed them. I spent a lot of time crawling around in mud. Got blown up and shot about 6 times and never once spotted an enemy. But it's awesome!

That's how it was for me when I first played it.. couldn't see anyone died constantly and my squad didn't say shit. It did feel awesome but it kinda put me off. I didn't play for a few months after that and then I tried again and man i have been addicted ever since!

After playing so many times on certain maps too, you'll begin to notice what I like to call "hot spots". High traffic areas, areas people always try to travel down on the map, kinda like a favorite spot people like to take all the time on the map

I'm really struggling with this game. I absolutely love it and can't stop thinking about it while I'm at work. My problem is I can't shoot for shit. I've always been terrible at all online shooters, but I really want to stick with this one. It's hard to keep my cool though when I spend most of my limited play sessions slowly making my way towards the frontline, only to die half way there or not long after I arrive. I just panic a bit when I get into a firefight and my reactions just slow to a crawl.

Just keep it up bro. If you want to stop dying ill suggest staying in your defensive point. There isnt alot of defence focused squads these days but you can abuse the fact that the enemy team just wants to attack your point. Just pick a high place like the third floor of a building or something similar, hide, and wait for enemies to come to your sights. Its okay to do this, youre supposed to lol. And youll get better at shooting, trust me, you just do.

use audio, not only for foot steps, if you turn as shots are being fired you can easily determine the direction of the shots. skin does stick out as well as the shine from helmets etc, map awareness is paramount. if you know you're map and hear shots from a certain direction, you will be able to narrow down the amount of locations the shots could be coming from. I am still learning myself, but these things have already improved my game.

I learned the footstep thing just a few days ago. I was by myself and heard footsteps. Did a quick swivel and saw no icons for anyone on my side near me. Figured it had to be the enemy. Stood still and waited on them to come around a corner somewhere. I've taken out a few guys that way. In terms if spotting people it's always the movement. I stop moving and look around and try to spot movement that doesn't belong.

Scan for movement, look for tracers, and watch where dirt is flying up and it helps if you're not moving

Played a couple days worth, best thing i found especially when moving, try and find good foliage to mask your body and sit and look, your eyes pick up on all the movement, see enemy amd engage? Move from that position and repeat. game reminds me alot of bf2 project reality

Just take your time and maybe focus on defending for a bit. At least then you roughly know where the enemy are coming from.

Yeah, corners, wrecks.. different colour things, roofs, windows, shadows... and over all the skin colour; the skin it's like irl, it stands out a lot even at distance.

I’ve played 4 nights of this and have been pretty disappointed when playing in infantry squads. Lack of communication and teamwork has my squad all spread out and I’m constantly trying to catch up with the squad leader. On the other hand when playing in an armor squad I’ve had better luck. The smaller squad and benefit of having all seats full forces teamwork.

I’ve found this. I got kicked from a sniper unit because my spotter felt I was too far away, but he had no Mike and was just tearing about. All I wanted to do was, seeing an advance, penetrate the flanks and set up an OP in a bush. Anyway they quit, and I sneaked up to a flank then hid in a bush near a respawn near a contested area (St Mere Eglise). Just picked off loads, helping the team and even had a tank a hundred yards away and they didn’t notice. The human eye uses peripheral vision to detect movement. So hide up with a side and your back covered and and breathe and stand still.

@@1DCCX I’ve been having a better time when just creating a squad and playing the sl. Everyone avoids playing sl so as soon as I create a squad it fills. I’m newer but I guess it’s the best way to learn.

I do get that often but I find that if you just keep talking and pointing enemies out and communicating often the rest of the squad starts as well. Some people don't have mics but I think a lot of people are shy! I often end up being SL and if someone in my squad doesn't talk or listen they are getting kicked!

@@TheBanana93 I was SL and said to a sniper who was not commmnicating ‘can you change to a pistol and fire it if your Mike works’ which they did. I think it was the language barrier on that server. Or maybe a Mike problem. I would say one in five games my Mike doesn’t work immediately and had the SL saying ‘go and play fucking COD etc’ when it was a technical fault. I like to give the benefit o the doubt. Also had a problem with no game chat when Party chat active. But if someone goes off and totally does their own thing and they’re not communicating they are getting kicked.

I always find it a little suspicious when I’m laying prone behind a wall or bush and STILL wind up getting one tapped from like a mile away….. It’s one thing if you’re in an open field but behind cover?… Idk man I hate when shit like this happens

I still can't understand what is happening and where to go exactly, I just deploy nearby the reds where I wish to find enemies and do some kills but it's always opposite and I get killed myself. It's just few days since I started playing it and man it's really not easy especially when you switch from the games like Battlefield or COD but HLL feel so real so I will keep trying until I understand it completely to get it's best experience. I can understand why some people don't like this game because they have habit to deploy fast, then run fast, then just shoot, shoot, shoot....it's like always in acton but this HLL need patience, tactics, communication with teammates etc. I also know whenever I get into some good teams then I will learn fast but I am still waiting for that team, so far no luck and I am playing it alone even though my great headphone is always attached but nobody talks

The aiming with controller is atrocious. I play on a 70" QLED and still can barely see shit. This game needs better optimization and a bit more zoom. Snipers on this game wreck everyone else. And theres only 2 per match so eeeeeeveryone wants to be the sniper. Almost the whole 10hr trial gone and not once was i able to be a sniper. Ridiculous.
