I think it shoud be reccomendable to put some kind of protection on the inside (balls of newspaper pages , masking tape) so the inner fabric doesn´t get stained. Pretty nice tutorial tho. I´d recommend this for making average shoes, lolita shoes
If they are leather, you just need to figure out whether they have a permeable or non-permeable original coating. If permeable, you can use color stain instead of spray paint, but the leather must be pre-dampened and worked over quickly so that you don’t create botchy lines. If they have a non-permeable finish, the blue color might be leather paint, in which case, you just use brown leather paint over it after to prep the surface to accept it, such as cleaning and slight sanding like he did with the scrub cloth. So, 4 years late! Lol. Such is life.
